It was all over the place on Steam, there were lots of reviews of the game being a BTC miner, people found it out over the resources the game used. I just can't recall the name of it.

The game's name was One Million Fatal Guns and the loser seemingly either deletes the talk in the game's forum or copy pastes the same answer about the game not being a miner over and over. It even is Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam right now. Sad actually, go to the negative reviews to read about it.

Kinda surprised to see it got slipped in on steam. But it's no secret that mining malware gets slipped into all sorts of pirated software. So maybe not THAT surprised.

Steam's quality of control has gone really downhill after the whole Greenlight. Not just in rape / anime sex related stuff but devs have gotten away with money and then turning DLC free and such cheap acts have happened quite a bit during a certain period, around 2017 or so.

I'd have to see an independent analysis on that particular game, but to be clear, we are splitting hairs. You are right on your premise, mining malware games exist.
