I plan on getting an Asus Strix RTX 3090 it's going to take me till march to save for it if I can control my self with spending.
if somebody has already done a thread like this I'm sorry

Definitely for me it will be a CPU upgrade, likely Ryzen 3600/3700 (depending how prices drop following Ryzen Zen 3 launch) either will be a decent upgrade however. I'm still annoyed I pulled the trigger on a 5600 XT only about a month ago with Navi2 just around the corner (inpatient) however in the grand scheme of things it is still perfectly fine as I only game at 1080p/75hz anyway and it chews through my games at that res/FPS just fine with more in the reserve tanks if needed, in fact it's right around the performance of your GTX 1080 which isn't all that bad IMO :) with a 3600/3700 CPU I think my rig will then be perfectly balanced until I feel the upgrade itch again, which hopefully won't be for another year or 2 maybe....

A new GPU, i had to sell my 1650 so i can afford upgrading from Ivy bridge to Zen+, and i think it was worth it, looking at 1650 (Super), RX 570-580. used or new.
After that i'm replacing my 120GB Kingston A400 SSD and my WD Blue 500GB HDD with a 500GB SSD.

For me it would probably be a new gpu. Something decent, something that will laugh at my 1080p/60 monitor, something that will surely be bottlenecked by my geriatric 3rd gen intel. After that I will get a new system for it, something that should last as long as my current rig. I know I’ll be sitting out on this batch of intel and amd. I can wait till a new breed comes.

I'm literally planning on placing an order today for computer upgrade parts. Going to be a very exciting one too because I rarely do major upgrades like this.
My trusty Core i5 4670K, Asus Z97-E and 16GB 2133MHz Corsair Vengeance will be retired from full-time duties in favor of a Ryzen 3100, Asus B550-F and 32GB 3600MHz GSkill Ripjaws.
If the Ryzen 3100 seems like an odd choice, that's because it's a stop-gap until the Zen 3 5700X is available. The 3100 is still a great CPU though and I'll probably re-use it in a family member's office machine upgrade.

Coolers or ssd for one of the big boy servers.

Extra hard drive(s). Deciding between getting a pair of 6 TB drives or one big 10 TB drive now and another down the line.

well darn, it's going to take me to may to save up for that card. I guess I can wait

Watercooling and a custom desk/PC case build will be first most likely or maybe a new CPU/GPU depending on how much of an itch I have

A few items.

I have an engineering sample core i5 10500 headed my way so I'm waiting to buy a z490 MSI motherboard. I just purchased ddr4 3600 16gb ram, a thermaltake S300 case. Saving up for the Mobo, and PSU.

As well, got $500 set aside to buy a new GPU when it releases. Either the Navi 2 or whatever is cost/performance for Nvidia (RTX 3060 I presume).

Ask yourself if you really need a 1500 card for work or just to play games with the most expensive card on the market atm. It appears to be only 10-15% faster than a 3080 while being double the price.

I thought this thread served the same purpose?
Feel free to disregard otherwise.

Probably nothing for a while yet... Give it a couple years?

For my part, a complete new machine based Zen 3/ampere if everything goes well this time.

I thought there was another thread go ahead and close this one

Likely to be an SSD as my 275GB drive is getting a bit tight, otherwise everything else has been handling my needs.

For me a wishlist in this context is something unrealistic or further away ("in three years I'll bench press 150kg and I'll have a gaming system for $10000"). "Next upgrade" is just the next upgrade. But I didn't follow that thread, maybe it became - or was from the start - just upgrade plans.

In any case whatever GPU €100 will get me.

Planning on a GPU upgrade next year. I'm waiting to see how the sub-$280 GPUs shape up. I'm also tempted to upgrade to an 8-core Zen 3 CPU if MSI really made my current motherboard compatible with the Zen 3 CPUs.

Next upgrade for me will most likely be a new mobo in the X570 form as X470 is now getting a little long in the tooth then after that maybe an R9 5xxx CPU depending on price ofcourse

Replace my Ryzen 3600 to ZEN 3 8 core.

My MSI 2070 Super to a RDNA2.

I'm building a new system depending on reviews of Zen 3 & RDNA2. I expect a gain of ca. 100 % from Zen 1 and Vega 64.

If second hand Vega 56 drops below 140 EUR, I might as well get one.

GPU is what I will upgrade first and what I need the most, hopefully later this year/early next year.

Something in the ~400$ price range 'after taxes'.
Will see what AMD comes out with and how the RTX 3060 will be priced in my country and if both of those options fail then I will grab something from the second hand market with 1-2 years warranty.

2070/S-5700/XT performance is more than enough for my needs anyway, playing on a 2560x1080 75Hz monitor.

Thought about a CPU upgrade but to be honest I don't really need it yet, I don't play anything that would benefit from it.
If that changes in the near future then I can always sell my current one and grab a 3600 or so. 'current mobo supports it'

After or maybe along with the GPU I plan on buying a 1TB SSD 'Kingston A2000 probably' and use it as a main game launchers+game drive cause atm they are all over my system and I want to sort them out.

Other than that I should buy a new keyboard since I already had to DIY repair my current one 2 times and I'm kinda tired of it.

Not really worth it coming from a 580.

I don't know it looks like to me 4GB ->8GB + 30-40% in performance depending on what you do. Looks like an upgrade that can be felt in real life. Depends on price though, that's all that matters to me on this one.
