[Solved] NVIDIA Displayport-> HDMI adapter issues with drivers later than 457.09.

I realize this post it's a couple months old, but I can test it with the adapter. System specs:
2080 Super
Vizio P75Qx- H1
Let me know if you're still looking for answers.

It works now. Last drivers fixed it. See pic.

On AMD it doesnt work better than HDMI 2.0.

Also HDMI 2.1 from AMD motherboards paired with for example Ryzen 4650G Pro dont work either. That is also limited to HDMI 2.0. Yea I mean native HDMI 2.1 slot, not adapter..

It's been working for a few releases (465+). They finally touched bases with me, verified the issue, and got it working.

Club3d claimed that AMD cards could recieve but not encode DSC, whatever the heck that means (I did not think the tech was bidirectional). They had a beta firmware that supposedly did the DSC heavylifting for the card. Maybe ask them for it. By the time they offered it to me for testing, my 5700 XT was sold.

EDIT: Also, this thread title is really misleading now. That ended up being disproven, but I can't edit it. Sorry.

Just hit Report against your first post and ask to make the thread title editable. You won't get a notification when they've done this, but the edit button will return. Just check back once in a while.

Glad you helped to get this NVIDIA problem fixed. :toast:

Given Ryzen 4650G outputs both HDMI 2.1 and Display Port 1.4 and both do have DSC I sincerely doubt thats the problem. Could be for previous cards. Will ask them anyway.

EDIT: DP v1.4 8.1G HBR3 is in Renoir Mobile platform. Kinda doubt it wouldnt be in desktop, altho its possible.

The explanation indeed struck me as odd but they had a firmware they claimed did the job. Dunno, ask Club3d.

way too late but i came here researching things that may let me OC my 4K60 HDTV, since it's got a 120Hz panel but mere HDMI2.0b, and pondered if a DP adaptor shortening the HDMI sides cable length would help... and while i was here, fixed that really late request
