[Solved] Recommend me quiet but quality PWM fans without 0rpm option

Found it (sorry about the delay)

Amazon.com: ARCTIC F9 (5 Pack) - 92 mm Standard Case Fan, Quiet Motor, Computer, Push- or Pull Configuration, Fan Speed: 1800 RPM - Black : Electronics

"I like these fans and I use hundreds of them but there is one thing you have to watch out for. They are fragile when shipped. I ship them in from Amazon, build a product and them ship them back out to my distributor via UPS. Unless I tie the blades to the frames, I will get 25% that break. The fan blade breaks loose from the center hub making it useless. I often get this happening when I ship them in from Amazon as well. Sometimes a box of 5 will be bad but usually, it's more like one in ten. Fans are strong, quiet and last a long time, they just won't take a lot of banging around during shipping. I have tried to contact Artic but they would never respond."

Well the Arctics P12 PWM do come with a 6 year warranty and don't find/read anything about brittle/broken about them.

If I'm not satisfied with the Arctics, I'll get Scythe slipstreams.
The Arctics P12 PWM are fragile and have resonance at some RPM, the P12 PWM RGB/A-RGB models have a lot less resonance.
The Phanteks PH-F120T30 are much better and built like a tank!

Use FanControl and you will have 100% control of your fans behavior.
With FanControl you can make the case fans to react to both GPU and CPU temperature.

Have cancelled the Arctics.

Ordered 3 Scythe fans.

No room for the 30mm thick T30?

It may not fit with the clips I have for my NH-U12A and these fans seem to have a 0 rpm or fan stop.

The 1 Scythe fan I have never stopped spinning on startup, so I hope with these Scythe fans I ordered the problem is solved.:)

Did you see if voltage control has the same problem? My A12x25s kept stopping on PWM but voltage control worked fine for B450I Aorus and B550I Aorus AX.

The only reason I recommended T30s was I thought for some reason you were looking for a case fan, but apparently not. You can clip T30s on heatsinks, but they'll require all corner pads removed and still it's very tough to wrestle them on there.

If you're looking for U12A fans, I'm not sure those Slipstreams will provide good enough performance compared to A12x25. Need more static pressure than CFM and those are definitely not pressure optimized fans.

TT Toughfan 12 is 500rpm minimum, and is of similar performance to A12x25.

Only in hybrid mode?

I have a Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PK PS that is really nice, I think the PL PS is the 120mm version, its very quiet and smooth and tolerates some aggressive mounting positions like impeller up, bearing is some kind of magnetic + fluid dynamic bearing.

Confused with respect to Noctua
NF-A12x25 PWM || Specifications (noctua.at)
says minimum speed 450 RPM

Stops at 0% PWM

When the fan is set to 0% PWM duty cycle by the motherboard or PWM fan controller, it will stop. This makes it ideal for creating setups with semi-passive cooling that automatically turn the fans off and thus run completely silent at idle if thermals allow.

Ok I'll keep those as possible option if the Scythe fans not work well with my Noctua cooler.

Iirc I have used this fan for my CPU cooler before in the past, also found out Scythe was selling these with a CPU cooler in the past.

Phanteks T30 are unbeatable if your use case can support the extra 5mm.

As exhaust fan it isn't an issue but they won't fit on my Noctua NH-U12A with the standard clips...
It would just fit for the memory though , since I only use 2 sticks.

They can fit on it, there is enough bend in the Noctua clips, you can see google images of this combination.

Stops at 0% PWM

When the fan is set to 0% PWM duty cycle by the motherboard or PWM fan controller, it will stop.

I think the T30 does that also, but I am not sure why this is a problem.

Exactly what I did

"...one of my fans stops spinning after a few seconds I've hit the start button..."

It does not start up again when things warm up?

Exactly what I did

"...one of my fans stops spinning after a few seconds I've hit the start button..."

Right after I click the power button they all spin, few seconds after, most of the time randomly 1 of the fans stops spinning while I have them set at 100% PWM in the BIOS.
Once I'm logged in my system the fan app takes over and the fans slow down to the fan rpm profiles I have created but the fan that stopped won't spinup anymore.
When one fan stopped spinning I have to do a full power off with the power extension strip turned off power with a switch and have to start all over again.

I have tried different headers, splitters, different motherboard BIOS'es but it all didn't solve this issue.

The Scythe fan I use as top exhaust always runs at every startup and never stops spinning until I logoff.

Any other options?

Was just looking at the https://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fans/kaze-flex-120-slim-pwm.html but they only go to 1800rpm @ 50.79 CFM..
Need at least 60 CFM if possible...

Got 1 of these at top-exhaust but becomes noisy at higher rpm's, was otherwise been a good choice with it's 1300rpm , 74.25 CFM..:ohwell:

Edit: Ok the Scythe Slipstream 120 PWM is not that unbearably loud, just ran it at 100%, maybe I have no other option than Scythe slipstream 120 PWM fans...

You should consider more than just CFM when deciding. The Arctic P12 PWM mentioned is 56 CFM, but also has a coil design that makes the motor run cooler, which could make up for that 4 CFM. Between the cooler coil design and a well designed bearing, they also last a long time and are very quiet, supposedly .3 sone, or 10.64 db. They also put a 6 yr warranty on them, which is pretty decent considering you can get them for $6 USD apiece if bought in a 5 pack. I've also read lots of raves about their customer support, jumping to connect with the vendor for a replacement when one is broken in shipping, without requiring the damaged one be sent back. These fans btw are also designed so you can daisy chain them off just one MB header, in case you want to sink them all to the same speed or temp adjusted variables. Arctic is a small company that blows away a lot of big ones on product and support, no pun intended.

@P4-630

Sorry, I should have remembered earlier. ADATA actually brought back pretty much the exact original Gentle Typhoon design recently:

If you can find these at the right price then they should knock A12x25/Toughfan/T30 straight out of the park for price/performance. When these exist at $19cad each, no reason to buy a Toughfan at $35, A12x25 at $37/$45, or T30 at $38.

Same old 120x25mm Gentle Typhoons that we know and love, but with rubber corner pads and PWM. Sounds like a winner if I've ever seen one. I honestly have a hard time resisting the urge to buy some at $19.

That's not a U12A. That's a U12S Chromax. There is no "second notch" on a U12A. Brute force only.

I've read that too, but have never seen it. Granted, I've only crossed pathes with a couple dozen or so of them and didn't do any flex tests, so who knows. I doubt they're so brittle that they will fly apart at any given moment.

My P12s did not feel like that and I have a bad habit of man handling my hardware sometimes and these fans did not make a noise when I installed them in my case. 'I broke a NVMe SSD once so ye..'
In comparison to my old potato grade cooler master fans in my previous case these P12s actually had a weight to them, thats what surprised me the most when I opened them out. 'granted I have no experience with higher quality grade fans'

They definitely did not flex or felt like breaking either, breaking these sounds more like user error to me tbh.

I hope this will solve my fan-stopping issues.

Typhoons are not for the faint of heart. You can chop carrots with one of those.

The question is

Still needs improvement if it can't splice RGB. We live in the space age and expect a glorious full 8 bits of graphics in stunning 8K HDR.

Hope they fix your odd issue. Too bad a firmware fix wasn't discoverable.

I have this issue since I did a platform upgrade Z690 that one of my fans stops spinning after a few seconds I've hit the start button...
I had the exact same issue with the same Noctua fans, actually there are threads about the issue all over various forums. I forget exactly what I did to solve the issue (I think I just used a splitter and played around with the BIOS fan profile to set the start up RPM higher) but I know the majority of people had this issue with gigabyte mobos (I did as well).

BIOS fan profiles all @ 100% PWM, tried splitters, different headers, BIOS update, I also found MSI boards with this issue...
Didn't find a true solution with google.

Hope these new Be Quiet! fans fix this issue..
