What would be (in your opinion) the best ultrawide 1440p monitor to buy at the moment?

Im currently looking them up here in Canada. I've found the Acer predator x34
The Alienware 1900r and the Asus one which I forget the name.

Any one specific model I should go for?
I'll be running a 2080 ti with g-sync

Usage is mostly for gaming

The Asus might be the PG348Q or PG349Q? There's also the upcoming PG35VQ, but it's going to be crazy expensive.
LG also has the 34GK950G, or if you got really deep pockets, the 38GL950G.
To be honest, I think you might as well go with a G-Sync Compatible screen, as in my opinion, G-Sync isn't all that it's touted to be.
That said, there doesn't seem to be any ultra wide 1440 that are certified so far.
Your best bet is to look here
Then see if there's a review here

mx34vq,should do g-sync via dp
buy original g-sync for ulmb only,if you're not interested in strobing then save your money.if you're playing first person perspective games like shooters or parkour it's worth it if you're not on a tight budget, and 2080ti should do 3440x1440 at 100/120 fps just fine in those types of games, provided you're running a 8700k or higher,or at least an oc'd 7700k with fast memory.

I have the Acer Predator X34P and it's gone back two times for warranty because the menu buttons stopped working. Usually it would start working after turning it off for a while then turning it back on but still ended up completely not working. Other than that, it's all good. Not that much backlight bleed as well.

@op

My PG348Q worked great so far, no issues except for the light bleed in all 4 corners (which is annoying in dark movies or games). Nothing to do about that... IPS.
However, it's quite an expensive monitor (in the range of $1000), and not exactly very "modern" by today's standards, it tops at 100Hz.

There are a few that do 144Hz on WQHD (3440x1440), but you definitely need an RTX 2080 Ti to drive that at it's full potential, so looking at almost $3000 costs just for the graphics subsystem.

My suggestion is... stick with what you have, you already have a very good monitor. There is zero need to change it, unless it's defective and you have no choice.

I wholeheartedly agree, have the *almost* the same monitor. The refresh peaks out at 75Hz (using DP), but I'm not complaining.

There's also this:
However there are no reviews out yet and availability is limited at this point, since it just got released. Also, it's VA not IPS, so you gain some contrast but sacrifice on responsiveness, gamma shift and viewing angles.

I realize now I should have been a bit more specific.

What I'm looking for must have minimum:

Native G-sync
100hz or more
Reliable

If it's got true hdr (400-600 nits or more) that's a bonus

Did you have a look at this? The downside is TN panel, but it meets all your other requirements, except HDR.

Last question:

For an UltraWide 1440p panel, what's the best cable to use with an RTX 2080 ti?

Display Port? If so which gen?
1.4?

If you have a link to your recommended DP cable, let me know. I need to buy one today

If you want to use G-Sync, youre going to have to use display port.
