Technical Issues - TPU Main Site & Forum (2021)

Well it does not seem to be doing it now. Is the orange bar a sign of slow/internet problem?
If you see it for more than five seconds on a page that is not loaded with pictures and media, I'd say yes. But it might be TPU, or the CDN, or Google, or your ISP.

As long as it doesn't do it regularly, it's fine.

yes it probably indicates a connection Timeout event.

i see those orange bars occasionally and they seem to preclude a Router connection problem

The orange bar is the loading indicator used by the forums. Seeing it is normal, seeing it for more than a few seconds could be a connection issue, or our servers are overloaded/laggy/otherwise broken

Ok I think it was my connection

@W1zzard
This is something not so much a glitch in the system as it is just an annoyance. For those of us that use dark themes we see the following when we read reviews of products that are given rewards;
InnovationBadgeBefore.jpg

Notice and the "holes" in the Innovation badge.

I have fixed this problem with the following;
Innovation-LLM.gif

As you can see below, no more black pixels showing through from layers below the image.

You are of course free to use this modified image. I make no claim of any kind. Just wanted to help out.

Enjoy.

So, is that a problem with the image's alpha?

This is fixed now, thanks for reporting

Has anyone reported this before? This is not a bug but a design flaw.

In Reviews, the dropdown list does not dynamically update(as it should).

It's like, when you select a country and then you have to select a state/province, the second list dynamically updates based on what the user selects in the first.

Right now, selecting country as the US and province as Quebec is legal(and produces nothing).

It makes narrowing reviews down tedious.

Also, please make the search feature work with these filters instead of independently. That'd also make looking for a particular CPU/GPU/case/PSU/motherboard/other a lot easier.

For example's sake: I could select "Motherboards", select "ASUS" in the sub-dropdown and search for "TUF Gaming" in the search box. That should give me a nice list of 5-10 motherboards to choose from.

Oops they did it again:

"Have you already given up on getting a new GPU this year?"

Hi,
Yep
Win-11 poll seems more appropriate atm

Stay on topic.
And, the topic is "Technical Issues - TPU Main Site & Forum (2021)""

Thank You

Wanted to wait for something Alder Lake related, but always feel free to suggest ideas for polls

@W1zzard how about the Zen 3 update coming in 2022? I would certainly want to wait for it to see if they make any difference, but there must be others who don't think it's worth it. Still others who are pro-Intel and just don't care.

Correct, this is a design flaw. I'm working on redesigning the backend, and porting to ASP.NET, big project for 2021, remind me next year

Is anyone having this problem?
