Got locked out of my account for a bit, broke a few things, had some fun:

My issue was edge, clearing cache fixed it. I guess something cached related to the server swaps, and glitched out.

Outage is fixed now, was caused by database disk full, I've been purging some old data and the binlog got huge

Correct, we might get rid of that in the coming days or weeks. With the proxy it's super easy to switch between infrastructures, without having to wait for DNS changes etc

We will save 2 milliseconds on each request, eliminate a single-point-of-failure, save a few bucks on server costs and reduce administration/monitoring workload (in that order of priority)

I mean, then your next server in line becomes the single-point-of-failure, wouldn't it?

Requests are plenty fast as-is, and being able to swap to the failover instantaneously isn't the worst idea ever, but yeah jm2c I guess
