TechPowerUp Radeon BIOS Editor (RBE), has been updated to version 1.27. RBE is our popular AMD/ATI Radeon graphics cards BIOS manipulation utility. This version of RBE refines support for new kinds of voltage controllers, such as the ones found on Radeon HD 6800 series and Radeon HD 6900 series graphics cards; improved device ID table of Radeon HD 6900 series, an improved BIOS extraction component, and a better hex-editor UI, among other changes that enhance the application's functionality and stability.

A complete list of changes follows.

• Added volt modding capability for CHL8214 voltage controller (reference design 6870 and 6850 cards).
• Added volt modding capability for VT1556M voltage controller (reference design 6970 and 6950 cards).
• Changing DeviceID now changes both locations properly (hopefully) all the time.
• Changing VendorID should work in more cases now.
• Added some new DeviceIDs (6950/6970).
• Updated WinFlash link.
• Updated RBE's internal BIOS extraction method to account for "ATI" labelled "AMD" now.
• Improved Hex editor interface a little.
• Fixed method 1 overdrive hacking signature extraction for 6xx0 cards. Only superficially tested due to no available non-reference signatures yet.

Ok. Here is the question. I have a Gygabite 5870 flashed with an ASUS bios.
Can I SAFETLY use this to modify the ASUS bios by putting, lets say 900Mhz to the GPU core, and 1250 to the RAM core, only for 3D mode???

yes BUT u should test these clock settings with ex. afterburn and fumark, when everything works fine u may flash ur card.

OR just let afterbrun auto start and set an OC profile, thats how i do it

The freqs work flawlessly because I've already tested them 1000 times.

The problem with MSI Afterburner is that if I set o.c proffile, than the lowes freqs became 600 for GPU and 1200 for RAM, instead of 157/300.

So is it OK to edit then flash the bios with 900/1220? The 157/300 values will still be there for low 2D mode?

im using afterburn 2.1.0 Beta5 min clocks work for my 100/300

why don't u just pick one bios from the TP bios DB with the same deviceID?
