TechPowerUp today released the latest version of TechPowerUp GPU-Z, the graphics subsystem information, monitoring, and diagnostic utility that no PC enthusiast can leave home without. Version 1.19.0 adds support for new GPUs and improves some features. To begin with, GPU-Z 1.19.0 supports upcoming AMD Radeon RX 500 series, new NVIDIA TITAN Xp, Quadro M600M, and M1200. It also adds the ability to extract video BIOS from GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. It also improves NVIDIA driver version detection on Windows 8, and a new vendor ID for Sapphire Technology was added. What the hell? Just updated this and noticed my Video Engine load on GTX 980 climbs to 100% right after system startup and stays at 100% for no logical reason. It also ramps up my GPU clocks to 1300MHz. Again, for no logical reason. What freaking now!? I bet it has something to do with stupid NVIDIA Experience recording part... Even restored stock GPU BIOS and its the same crap. Clearly not OC related. If I didn't update GPU-Z, god knows how long this nonsense would be hammering my GPU without me even knowing about it.

EDIT:

You got to be kidding me. What the hell is causing Video Engine load!?!?!? How can I figure it out damn it?

Do previous GPU-Z versions show the same?

I'll try, but shouldn't GPU-Z just show the info, not create load itself?

EDIT:
Same with one version back. I don't get it how I didn't notice this before. I have no idea how to even debug this nonsense. If I go into safe mode to exclude 3rd party app, it won't run because there is no graphic driver either...

I thought it could be a glitch with the new GPU-Z but since the older version reports the same, that's not it.

Can't help you further due to lack of knowledge: sorry :(

Made 3 reboots and a visit in safe mode and now it's gone. I just can't even...

It just fixed itself. And I didn't do anything apart from reboots and just going into safe mode without doing anything. Go figure...

Are we ever going to see Pascal ASIC quality? I know that it changes from chip to chip, is there any progress in finding the information? I don't really know why I care, all Pascal cards OC within 5% of each other, I just like seeing that kind of information.
