I got mine ordered on this past thursday for $509.20 shipped.

the place was actbuy.com, the dude caught flak form ATI apparently and pulled the cards till the 24th and raised the price to $549, i got lucky, i kind of new that would happen so I bought one ASAP :rockout:

AWW MAN, I don't want to go Crossfire, does anyone know when the G71 is gonna be out? I'm still kind of insulted by the 16 pipes in the X1900, but it is getting easier for me to handle because of how much power they are getting out of these new cards.

Pipes dont mean squat especially with 3x the shader processing power for each pipe it has

I know dude, I know. I've been over this 1000 times on techpowerup, I just don't appreciate that there are still 16. In one thread I explained about how in my mind, it's like a V8 (24 pipes) vs a V6 (16 pipes), if they both have the same horsepower, the V6 has every advantage because of power-weight ratio, so it'll kill the V8. But the guy that owns the V8 has the right to brag about it (kinda like that dumbass hemi trend a little while ago) even if it doesn't run as fast. And the V6 is gonna take some heavy modding to run as fast as the V8 does stock (like the souped-up X1X00 series). Plus logically a V8 has more potential, just like you would think 24 pipelines would. I'm a size man, bigger is always better with me, and that's why I care about pipes even though it doesn't matter. So yeah, that should explain it.

bragging is stupid lol

as long as your happy with what you paid for is all that matters.

I went from a 9800pro to a 6800gt and then to a 7800gtx, i thought the x800 series was crap honestly, the performance wasnt that great for the huge prices they were charging. Now..

I would never spend the prices nvidia wants on a 7800gtx 512 or the 7900 for that matter which will be $700, thats why I am back with ATI. I think this card is crazy for $510, I had a 7800gtx and it wasnt all that 24 pipes and all.

wow, that might be my trend too in graphics cards (had the 9800 Pro upgraded to 6800GT and now probably a 7800GT). I know what you're saying, but I was just explaining where I was coming from. And I really, REALLY don't like Crossfire (why I don't want an X1900). I don't even own an SLI board yet but I know for a fact it's plug-and-play if you get 2 of the same cards. Crossfire has mastercards, hard-to-find motherboards, not enough support, and it's still young so I don't know all the features yet, and I haven't heard of one guy with a real Crossfire setup. That's why I want to wait for the 7900.

I dont subscribe to SLI or crossfire, and i wont until it gives me 2x the performance. I'm not gonna spend 2x the money when i dont get 2x the performance hahaha:shadedshu
