yes...but allow me to recommend this one instead. Corsair 750 for the same price. :toast: (actually $10 cheaper with MIR). Not modular, but the Corsair has a reputation as one of the best out there.

it will be more than enough

Yes it will be plenty.

will this psu - COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M700 RS-700-AMBA-D3 700W ... - be good enuf to run this gpu - EVGA 896-P3-1257-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Super... - with 3.4ghz quad core amd processor 2 hard drives and 4gb ram? o.o

Have you bought the video card already? The GTX 260 is not worth $224.99 by any stretch. You can buy a ATI 5770 which performance the same for $150 or a GTX 460 for $199 and it will blow the GTX260 away.

But to answer your question, yes that PSU will work. However its a bit overkill for the type of system you're building. You can drop to a PSU in $60-70 price range and it will still be overkill.

I would not get a coolermaster they are not all that good . I would get a corsair before I would get one of them .

The low end CoolerMasters are not that good, but they're not supposed to be. The high end CoolerMaster GX and Silent Pro M series are good, I haven't seen a negative Silent Pro M review yet.

Saying that though at this price point I would rather an Antec, but I have no bias towards Corsair or CM.

Antec is a great one as well , But I am a tad bias when it comes to a PSU . You can never be too careful when getting one . It could mean the difference between your system running really well or parts being destroyed !

I wouldnt worry about CoolerMaster, they've been around and established for a long time. Granted they have released junk in the past but they've also released amazing stuff too. The Silent Pro M and GX range is one of them.

i've had my Rosewill 600W PSU since Nov. 09 and still going strong. have my CPU OC @3.3 and all is stabled. though, i do know better. go with Antec or Corsair

I am not saying that CM is really that bad . I am saying that when it comes to a PSU I do not want to take the chance . Not any more I have had them wipe my shit out so fast and learned that getting the cheapest can also mean getting a new computer . It is a matter of trust and well I trust corsair , rocketfish , Antec , Tt . I just hate it when things go bad and find out it was the PSU that took it all out .

Taking a chance with PSUs is always bad, but we are not talking about a generic PSU here or a "cheap PSU". The CM Silent Pro is a high end enthusiast PSU with >85% efficiency with a 50A 12v rail. If buying a high end PSU is taking a risk you can not be pleased.

Read forums and customer comments and you'll that sometimes even Antec and Corsair PSUs blow taking components with it. It doesnt happen often but it happens, its computing shit happens sometimes.

:O!! forgot about the 400s. so should i get this? EVGA 01G-P3-1373-AR GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Superc... - is it faster than the 260 core 216? can my psu handle it? or this one Palit NE5X460HF1102 GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) Sonic ... < this one loox nyce :D

I would think the 460 is way faster then any 260 and ya i would get away from CM PSU's there not at all knowen for there quality in the PSU department do what everyone is telling you if your going to get a NEW PSU get top notch quality and be assured that your hardware is safe cuz you know if a low quality PSU pops it can take parts of your system or all of it with it and then you will be spending alot more money for a new PC

Can't barely agree that CoolerMaster is worse than Corsair. I think they're pretty similar in quality and performance
Anyway back to the topic, I'd go with the TX750 Corsair instead of the Silent Pro 700 from CM :D

Heard some people saying the evga's sound like jet engines, don't know for sure though, its one of the cards I still haven't touched personally! Aren't they supposed to be about $220?

And yeah, the psu you plan to get will be plenty enough to power it, no worries. Also, the 460 is so worthy of your money right now than the ageing 260. You won't regret it.

i just literlly got back home from building a computer for radio/tv show and i used a CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-750HX 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EP... (first time using them and that was the greatest psu i have used), but a CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready... would be just as good and GIGABYTE GV-N460OC-1GI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB... that is the best graphics card i have used at 100% fan i couldn't hear it threw the case.

here's the gpu its a good one

Yep, sorry for that. AM3 motherboard can't do SLI except for some NVIDIA nForce 980i chipset or older :D

im not adding to my pc im getting a new one from cyberpower... and im not worried about noise from the gpu i got sound absorbing foam in the pc. im thinkin i might get that superclocked 460 from palit as long as evry1 agrees my psu is good enuf for it..

u can all just forget this. my stupid hemi blew up today so i canceled my pc order cuz its gonna cost me 4-6k to get my truck fixed. -.- never buying a dodge again gettin toyota next time. 05 5.7L with 114k miles just seizes in the middle of the road going 5mph. wonderful

Man that sucks....good luck with your Truck.

And when your ready again.....ignore the peeps bashing the CM Silent Pro PSU's....they work great and get great reviews. :)
I've seen corsair PSU's smoke a rig like any other....and lately I've been reading more and more threads on forums about Corsair units burning out and dying on peeps.....It's more common that you think that when a company gets to the top.......eventually their Quality Control takes a dump.....it just happens.

Once again good luck with your truck bro. :)
