So yesterday was a very hot day for the UK which brought a lot of bugs. Apparently it was "thrips day" and these things invaded my home, I currently have at least 6 stuck in my LCD TV screen and at least 2 in my LCD monitor, does anybody know how to remove these since it's apparently common for this to happen but there isn't any guides on how to remove them online.

I used to live in East Anglia in Mildenhall and I hate those pests. I know of no way you can remove those without risking damage to your display.

If dead, you are out of luck. If still alive, you might be able to entice them out by putting food (plant leaves) near the monitor vents and hope they find their way out. Sadly, there are 1000s of different species, and it seems each have their own favorite foods so I don't know what to suggest as bait. Perhaps you can find them outside and see which plants attract them.

I do think many are attracted to light so you might turn off the monitor, cover the screens and put a bright light by a vent too.

Good luck.

LoL. Call me crazy, but I'm not so much surprised with bugs, but with presence of glass overlay on the LCD TV. Haven't seen this in awhile )))

On topic: no way to remove those buggers without a complete disassembly. If it gets very annoying, then you should probably take your TV to a repair workshop. The procedure itself is relatively easy, but requires patience and a few risky steps. You need to unclip the back cover, remove all logic boards, unscrew the LCD and carefully lift it off the front panel. Then, clean the screen with microfiber cloth, do the same for a glass panel, and then put it all back together. Or just wait for them to die of starvation and fall down off the LCD ))
Another thing that might or might not work, is luring them out. Just like most insects they are attracted to light. You can leave it off in a dark room, and stick a small LED flashlight on one of the rear vents. It's literally and figuratively a shot in the dark, but definitely safer than disassembling a TV on your own )))
