Anybody playing this right now? Played about 30 minutes this morning of the beta, unlocked the medical wing basically then stopped. It's...interesting. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. The shooting feels okay. I don't like the fact I can't jump freely, but they do at least allow you to climb onto a lot of things and get into cover easily. The damage model of the enemies is a bit weird, how they have critical hit points with head and all that - I am not sure that I like it. I get it's an RPG/MMO/whatever, but just not what I'm used to. I do like how you can have two primary weapons equipped. It also seems like it may be a bit too heavy onto the skill tree/inventory system for me, and that's just not personally a thing I like messing with.

Thoughts?

I'm waiting to get into the beta but it seems it wont happen. Other than that I'm almost 60% sure I will get it when it launches but from the things I've seen so far I think I might have expected a bit too much from it.
Is it really around 26-27gb in size? Fallout 4 was about the same and by the time I download it, the beta will be over.

Yep its 27gb, but as for my thoughts its to early to tell.

I can't figure out what kind of game is it going to be. According to Wikipedia, it's an online only 3rd person shooter and RPG. That doesn't really help much.

The gameplay is not bad, but there is not much to do in the beta, the only thing i have left to do are the darkzone and to replay the only mission available, the game runs poorly on my system getting about 45-55 fps on high-medium.

Wikipedia info is old. It's also going to have a fairly extensive SP campaign. Wiki is reporting on the original concept of the game which was an online MMO RPG.

This will probably be a disappointment just like R6: Siege.

Ok, so what is the current concept then? :P

It's a 3rd person shooter rpg. I played the beta for a few hours, got disappointed very quickly, game feels extremely empty and repetitive.

Graphics are just ok, UI feels very console port

A game like the division will be full of trolls. Stay far away.

Played till lvl 7 servers went down can't play anymore. Seems there are lots of hackers all ready so game will be no play if problem won't be fixed.but I won't buy it anyway not my typo of game.

I eat trolls for breakfast.
Just kidding, in L4D2 I just usually kick them of the team. Hope the Division has something similar.
It seems I wont be getting into the beta this time. I got this from Ubisoft.

The last time I downloaded a 25 gig game it took me about 3 days. :)

I get pretty bad GFX corruption actually. I am on the latest AMD's available but yeah it's sporadic but I can make it totally freak out if I bring up the pause menu... So I can't really enjoy it no matter how it really is.

Yeah dowgrade is strong in this one, dunno why does UBIshizle even bother manipulating with E3 gfx engine and then release something sub-par.

I was very impressed by Snowdrop engine capabilities then when I saw actual end result I was like wdf is this again, won't bother with UBI ports anymore.

Can someone highlight the difference between this and GR Wildlands for me? Aside from the setting, they look so similar.

Pretty sure what we saw in E3 was pre-rendered.

Well yes and no, they also showed engine capabilities and effects, now in final product only 1-2 work, rest is missing.

game is p2p mesh with total client authority expect cheating to be rampant and gratitudinous on launch
the darkzone with a nightmare because of this
./adds to do not buy list

I've heard it will be another beta before it launches, and that in this beta there were a lot of hackers and cheaters.
I might just skip this game for now and pick up GTA 5 instead.

Have you played R6? I can't get enough of it. I would suggest it to anyone who likes a tactical FPS.

there is nothing tactical about it.

I disagree, and I've played it. It's very dynamic and you must out play your opponents, not outshoot. If you haven't tried it, you should. I read a lot and watch tons of videos. I was disappointed and skeptical until I played it. It's a great game.

Anything post Raven Shield isn't a tactical shooter. Lockdown sort of tried it in a very dumbed down sense, but was a buggy mess. After that it has been straight up action shooters.

I'd like to give The Division a go (open beta coming up?) but I am not too sure how long this game will last online. Seems like you can run out of things to do quickly.

yea, everyone has their own opinion of "tactical." if people find it fun then good for them. but i come from playing hundreds of hours of rogue spear and ghost recon. i was hoping seige was going to be more along the lines but whatever. division looks like it has potential but it will come down to the types of people you play with.
