Wow !! This is probably the coolest contest i have ever seen !!

I'm working on my designs for a week now and i'm really excited about them

Got 8 finished designs so far and i'm working on 2 more so i can pick 5 among 10

Thanx to HIS and Tech Power Up for such a great initiative
 
Lol I should get paid for this. I spend more time designing for this contest then I normally spend on designing the magazine I work for.

Ouch. When competition = professional designers our chances get really low...

If your work is worth the time and skills you put on it, then you will be paid by winning a graphics card!

Sure, but I've seen some very nice design as well. Some people send their design through email so we might not seen everything yet.

Well me too, anyway i don't think that the most complicated or professional designer made project will necessarily win! Sometimes you get to put too much stuff on a design that if you see it original size, you can't distinguish what's on there.

I've always posted my submissions in the official thread, anyways....... "Chè vinca il migliore! - May the best win!"

I wouldn't say unfair, and the contest should be open to anyone. This is why it is a great contest. Not limited to some regions, not limited to one or two countries, not limited to one group of individuals.

I was just thinking that any professional designer will have a certain edge over us, the little people... thats all... if they want to compete, let them. I welcome the challenge... actually I dare them to challenge us. :nutkick: :D

It would've been nice if we could see all entries in the contest thread, even those sent via email (a mod/admin can post them :respect:... even if the entrants didn't wanted to)... just to keep things simple and fair... I want to see the "competition" before the actual end of the contest. :p

But i have to agree with you when it comes to the entries... People should be allowed to submit the entries using the topic only, so we could see everyboby's work. That would be more funny

Is there a problem if i make the pcb black and white in my designs?
Does this invalid my entry, it's not mentioned in the rules...at least i cannot see it mentioned.

keep in mind that the final card isnt going to have a black and white PCB... so it might well get invalidated, merely because its impossible to make.

This contest is about the cooler art/sticker really, NOT about designing the card itself.

Anyway i made a black/white pcb just because it goes well with the design i made on post #131.
I know the design is for the sticker only and i know that the final product will have the original red pcb( it's up to HIS i guess, they can even decide to make a black pcb for this edition)...so mine was just a combination of pcb color and sticker.

If i upload the design with the original red pcb, would this count as a new entry?

i dont actually know who's in charge of this stuff here on TPU (except for w1zz), but they do allow you to update your entries. Merely update it with the red PCB version.

Anyone own the right to the Powercolor chick or Gears of Wars image? More copyright images on post. You can use copyright images but you must change it dramatically (unrecognizable by others) in order to call it your own work. If the work is 3d rendered, the original user should have a 3d file along with the rendered images. I don't know about the Asian country but copyright law in most other country are very strict. You can get sued or sometime if you get lucky the original owner just ask you to take it down or pay for the rights or you might slip. Save yourself from embarrassment when being ask for original file. Play it clean and I doubt HIS want to print something that is not legitimate. Sorry for being such a nerd, I just wanted all real player to have equal chances.
 
HD 4890 PCB + Fan

I need the pic of the ready made gfx card so that the fan/cooling system appears on my art once i cut out the circular part... please:respect:

this late in the game they arent going to give us any new pictures. You'll just have to work with whats already provided, like everyone else.

I need the bigger Radeon premium graphic logo cause my design have high resolution and I don't want to upscale the logo. Not very important cause you can always replace it in the end :)

Do you have it ? I checkout the AMD press site, but it only have old ATI Radeon Graphic logo.
