Troubleshoot my problem plz? (A thank you for each attempt)

Ok, time to get going. I will report back on my progress in a day or 2. Thanks you all for your help. Hopefully one of your suggestions will finally kickstart the system.

I had a similar problem with my first build. My GPU came with an adapter for power that used two 4 pin molex connectors. I did not realize I could have used the PCI-E connector from my PSU (a newbie mistake I know). Anyhow the whole time I had it hooked up with that adapter I had the same exact problem, I trouble shot everything and couldent figure out what was wrong. Anyway keakar told me about the PCI-E rail so I used that and my PC fired right up. Apparently the other connection had a short in it and it was making my PSU shut down instantly. Prehaps you have a short somewhere on the board thats making the c/b in your PSU shut off...check for contact to your case or other hardware, good luck hope I helped and remember dont get to frustrated.

There is a known problem with Sapphire cards and certain brands of monitors. I had this problem with my 2900XT and my Viewsonic monitor. I did a lot of research, and found numerous complaints. I sold the card before I found the answer. I do believe some people fixed the problem by updating their monitor firmware.

This is ridiculous. All of your suggestions have not yielded any results.

I thought about 1 more thing, I then used the VGA-to-DVI adapter on my old rig which had a ATI 9700 pro, it has both a VGA and DVI input where I could plug in the monitor display cable. So I used the adapter on my monitor and I plugged it into the DVI input on the 9700 pro, it worked.

So what could be the problem? I think it might be the video card, might I have a DOA? If yes or no, why does the fan work on the video card? Or could it be the monitor like Paulieg said? I don't know. Let me know your suggestions please.

Well going by what you stated so far, what did you have in a previous rig that worked fine? Any parts at all that were reused?

Everything is brand spankin' new.

The only things that were kept were my 2.1 speaker set, dsl modem of course, and monitor.

Have any cheap@$$ ram sittin' around? If so try them.

Cause I beleive it is either ram or motherboard.

Had the same problem, one of my ram sticks was dead. If both dont work then my guess is you got a really bad batch :(

Well as i posted on the 1st page about the lcd plugin especially this bit.

""If you hit a problem during the Post process, you don’t have to interpret a series of beep codes, but instead can read "DET DRAM" or "ONBD IO""

You said your self you are getting these messages it also seems to suggest that if you unplug it you should hear bleeps instead so why dont you unplugg the lcd and see what bleeps you get if you get more than one then you know for sure its a definate fault within the case and not the monitor.?

I downloaded the manual for your board theres also jumpers to set the cpu voltages and i also checked the supported memory chart and muskin wasnt on it.
