Two bricked RX 6800s

I recently bought two RX 6800s off someone who previously used them to mine. I got an rx 6800 xfx speedster merc 319 and an rx 6800 gigabyte gaming oc.

He swapped the vbios to a mining vbios, but couldn’t swap them back. They both show up on GPU-z correctly but on device manager they give (Code 43) Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems.

my problem is when I launched amdvbflash to flash the vbios the 6800 xfx says it already had the bios I’m attempting to flash and the gigabyte model does not have a vbios rom on tech power up

I’ve already tried to force flash through the cmd prompt but got error 0FL01

Neither of them post, they just show a black screen but the motherboard seems like it posts there are no diagnostic lights. I’m using a second graphics card in the top pcie slot to post and the 6800 in a different slot. Adrenalin does not detect the gpu. I’ve tried DDU and reinstalling all drivers. Does anybody have any suggestions before I sell them bricked on eBay?

There are a few good tech channels on Youtube that would not charge you too much to fix this. NorthWest repair is a good example of someone who could replace the physical Bios chip on the boards. See how much that is vs selling them on Ebay.

I just tried to flash using amdvbflash 5.0.567

After restarting no fix an

after I replaced -fa with -fv

It seems like they almost want to flash but I’m missing something.

I attached the gpu z I’m going to try an flash through Linux next

In later versions of amdvbflash, there is a driver inside of the zipfolder of the tool, once you extract the folder, you must install that driver first, after doing so restart your system and make sure you are using an administrator elevated command prompt.

Also coming from a miner there is no telling if the card suddenly failed (the only reason most miners sell gpus is they are fucking abusers)

Try ATI Flash 2.93

Try ATI Flash 2.93
Version 2.93 doesnt work on RX 6x00 and newer AMD cards.

You need to use a CH341a programmer. When you buy a CH341a programmer, make sure it is version v1.7 or you will have a bad time when it goes wrong.
Orginal/earlier version have an issue with the voltage selection.

I hope you meant you're going to sell them on ebay "for parts only." ebay is pretty friendly to buyers. There's no way you can try to initiate a return? Or did you sit on them for 2 months before testing them in a machine?
