Yes it does, but the tesselation has to be ran through ATI's driver and hardware, the DX11 tesselation support is mandatory and is directly accessible to any hardware on the API.

So unless ATI releases a driver or DX hack the tesselation of the 4000 series was a waste.

Wow the OpenGL looks almost as good as the DX10! Why don't more games use OpenGL? Do developers have to pay MS to use D3D or is it the other way around... are there incentives from MS to use it?

I think opengl was always a very viable alternative to directx, but for the past few years it just has been shoved in the corner by most devs, somewhat unfairly in a way. That was until dx11 of course, where opengl has just fell behind. Opengl has a feature set trying to compete with dx10, whilst ms has moved on to dx11. Which is boasting quite a few nice touches which will ultimately deal a massive blow to the already crippled openGL

you need to start the benchmark (i believe it's f9, it says on the splash screen when you start it) whilst the demo is on.

For those of you that want DX11 for Vista. Just goto Windows Update and install the Platform update, this will give you DX11

Afraid not, you need a DX11 GPU to do Tessellation.

Hmm, Im not sure, Did you try running in dx10, Can you post a screenshot, it seems the 3870x2 dose quite well in this benchmark, Ive out scored a few ppl with alot newer tech than myself
