I am new to this unlocking pipelines deal and would very much like some help. First I have the powercolor x800 GTO not the GTO 16 second I saw a ton of posts on Newegg (where I bought the card) that it can be unlocked to utilize all 16 pipelines. Unfortunatly I can not find any bios anywhere that will do it for me and I don't know how to edit my own bios. I am going to add my Bios to the tech power up list so if anyone else knows how to unlock them plz feel free to play with it. Or if anyone can tell me how plz reply:respect: . As far as I am reading the x800 gto is the same card as the gto 16 only the 16 comes factory with 16 pipes unlocked. So if anyone has that card could you plz add the bios to the list in the forums here so I can try that one out. It would be greatly appreciated. One last thing the powercolor x800 gto and gto 16 cards both use the r430 gpu not sure if that tells you much other than it doesn't over clock much  I only got it to 457 core and 532 mem before it crashed the card in my tests it standard at 400/490 so I'm setting it at 440 core and 520 mem for now. Any help here is greatly appreciated thx.

I would also like to know if the Powercolor X800 GTO can be unlocked to 16pipelines, since I just bought one, it has a R430 core.
I haven't had a chanche to try it out yet since it came to me just 1hour ago and I'm still at work....

Guys let's do the things step by step. First look that and repeat it with your cards http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=5367. There are a lot of people which can mod your BIOS to work with 16 pipes if it is possible on "hardware" level. The PowerCpolor GTO16 comes with R430 which is renamed XL or I think so. The normal GTO should be with R423 or (R480).

lol... not the r430 again... :( Hey, what's the maximum overclock you've managed with it? The highest i can get on the core is 450mhz.

R430 should not be good overclocker at all because of lack of low-K dielectric and the cheaper 0.11u process. The Reference ATI Radeon X800XL operating at default clock speeds 400MHz / 1GHz and 450MHz is a serious increase (understand decent overclock). I hope that with this post I will help to answer at least few questioins which burns away your mind :) .

Oh right, yeah, that's answered a few questions.

I'm getting an ATI silencer 5 rev2 soon, so it should be interesting to see how much further it will go. I'm hoping for 470mhz, but i might need to do a volt-mod to get there.

Thanks for the info :)

Sorry to let you know I have already had someone check it out and even though the powercolor x800 gto16 is the same card (GPU and all) the powercolor x800 GTO is hardlocked at 12 pipes, and all I can get mine to overclock to is about 453 core, better than nothing I guess  . All I can say in consolation is that the x800 gto is a good card out of the box and for most games overclocking shouldn't be necassary.
