To view this case mod, go here.

Specs:
E6600 @ 3.6 ghz 29°c 24/7
Asus P5b Deluxe
4gb XMS 2 ddr 2 800
GTX 260 GPU
Hiper Type R 600w PSU

Mods:
WATERCOOLING

featuring Swiftech pump, rad, waterblocks.
gpu block is fairly old off a 7900gt gpu so was machined down to 1mm thickness and fitted with moddifed bracket to fit gtx260.

thermochill 120.2 rad with push pull fans in modded hard drive bay to allow cooling to be kept separate.

CASE

imported case from the U.S. as couldn't source from a U.K.vendor

as this case is meant to be seen i decided early on that i was gonna side mount the drives and reobus.

an external rad just would not do so i had to cut out the drive cages to make room leaving me just enough space for one hard drive, the reobus and my dvd drive

mobo tray rotated and psu mounted at the bottom of the case. so the motherboard is fitted upside down. keeping air flow in the correct direction (up)

I.O. plate rotated to allow mobo fitment

mobo tray screwed to the case with 1 inch standoffs and mobo has 2 inch standoffs to allow all wiring to be hidden behind mobo

new fan holes lazer cut and side panel removed

lighting with UV cathodes looked shit so i`m using a UV fluro tube from B&Q so its not bright and there is no light bleed all over the room just the parts i wanted illuminated.

the pc sits next to me on my desk so i didnt want bright lighting in my face all the time especially as this is mainly a media center

please dont forget to rate and feel free to leave any comments on how i could improve things. i`m always looking for ways to make it a little better

Umm nice build? why would you make a post here without NO computer period? NO SPECS, NO CASE, and NO PICTURES?

for some reason my pics aint worked have faith young padwan still getting used to this forum.

way to greet a new member you ignorant ass

Im sorry urbtree. Welcome to TPU! enjoy your stay and disregard our snide comments. When you get time, please goto the UserCP and fill in your system specs

lol no problem. suppose we all get sick of noobs.

i`m on it right now but i`m finding it hard to upload pics to my gallery.
just keeps saying no image available. i`ll try direct from photo bucket see if that helps

i already have them all hosted on photo bucket so i can upload them to the forum but i didnt know it was duped here as well.

what i`m trying to do is upload them direct to the case gallery through it own uploader as there's quite a few pics but i get no image avail.

i`m guessing its something to do with pic size. as there all .jpeg`s

bear with me i`ll sort it soon enough

TBH, because you had NO details whatsoever for this casemod, I thought you were some random nutter messing about............my apologies :)

Welcome to TPU.

Ive had trouble uploading pics before. It turned out to be file size/format ;) If you make sure they are small(ish) JPEGs that follow the file size rules, you should be fine.

yeah i noticed you`d had a similar issue when i searched the forums.

i`ve managed to make the first image show that was down to my private data needing refresh.
i`m working on a batch resize now lol it means i`ll have to install elements but i`m playing with bad company two atm

and who says men can multi task lol

any way thanks for your help

Your welcome.

If your PC is the one in your AV..........it looks very nice :)

yay i did it.

can you let me know if all my pics are working someone

Ok... now thats cool

I've always liked the idea of an acrylic case but never seen one that was able to pull it off just right, because there is no where to hide the things you don't want seen. Never say never. True modification, a lot of creativity, and great execution. Some may feel if it ain't all black with some evil name, it isn't a serious or real build. Its good to see otherwise! Great job flipping things in a unique way. 8/10.

thanks man. its took a bit of meddling to get it uploaded i think its sorted now but i`m not seeing the pics everyone else is for some reason.

i`m well pleased with how this build turned out.
so thanks for the ratings

I like it, Simple clean, really clean & original build. welcome & nice build

Welcome to TPU...I do not like clear cases, period! BUT, your rig is an exception....Nice frackin job! 9/10 from me. I like it.

wow i`m amazed. i know with thes cases you either love em or hate em so make me feel good that i`m converting some haters too

I'm gonna second the vote on clear cases. Normally I hate clear cases with led's flooding them, BUT since your board is flipped and the 5.25" bay's are normally where the psu is; it's unique and I do admire it.

Nice loop man, even better way to re-mod the gpu block. :toast:

I voted 8/10

No no.. No converting, haha, your's is just the only exception lol.

i`ve always though the gpu sits the wrong way up in most cases. as heat rises its always seamed odd to have the heat sink underneath the card

this way all the heat is travelling the right direction (up)
i have to admit its only made a little difference (like one or two °) but some times that can make all the difference between a stable rig and a pile of steaming plastic

lighting has been the hardest part, i hate uv cathodes they spoil the whole look dont give out enough light.
with this build i can light it from the out side with a uv fluro that can only be seen by what it shines on

No no.. No converting, haha, your's is just the only exception lol.

in that case i`m even more thrilled lol
thanks for the votes guys

U-V!

Looks tidy for an accrylic. Really.. throughout the history of accrylic casing that Ive seen, wirez were everywhere. Yours is the first one I saw that got it right. Good job.

10 out of 10

Definately a 10 / 10, from what I've seen in the past it's hard to get a liquid cooling setup looking perfect, let alone liquid cooling AND acrylic case.
I agree with all here; first ever acrylic case and/or liquid setup that I would actually like to own...

Nothing looks out of place to me so no reason to give it less than 10 / 10.
