Or a bad/limited implementation by HP for all we know...
I don't know how true it is, but I read somewhere that the dual stream on TB3 is an Apple patented thing.
Aren't these displays 27" though? I mean with 5k at 27 inches, you're looking around using %175 scaling to read stuff properly... so UHD should also be fine.
If only they didn't require TB3 to operate.

I only use 125% scaling on my 27" 4k screen, not sure why you'd need 175% on only slightly higher resolution.

I don't scale because I'm a masochist. It's also probably why I'm nearsighted.

Back when I had a 32" UHD, I used %125 so I'd suppose I might prefer %150 at 27". Personal thing I guess, I don't like my icons too small.

Honestly, my preference would be two 32" UHDs with height adjustment like these.

To be honest, I'm just being whiney. The HP Spectre works pretty well with them. I'm upset that I'm being forced to choose between games and no games, but I almost never play games anymore, so it probably doesn't matter. I should probably just connect the tower to the TV and game in the living room and use the laptop in my office where my tower is now. I also think that some games, like Factorio, might just run at 4k on the laptop. I haven't tried it though.

At that rate you could just get one big ultrawide like the Samsung 43" or one of the 38'ers tbh.
