Was thinking of getting the 5770 but then

I found the 5830 is like a few dollars more only and on top of that the Nvdia GTX 460 or the GTX 465 are now just as cheap after rebate.. which of these cards can support multiple monitors well. I know Nvdia supports CUDA.. but what can ATI do in video encoding? Thanks

Well a single 5830 has Eyefinity that can support 3 monitors at once. Not sure on the 460. ATi also has Avivo for video encoding for free. As far as performance goes, the 460 is a better buy if you're a gamer I suppose.

seems the 460 768 beats the 5830 overall and the 1024mb one by a wide margin.

right now it looks like 5850 or bust for ati.

Only 2 monitors at the same time are supported on the gtx 400 family cards.
You need SLI for their 3d vision technology thingy that no one gets because it costs a ton and makes your head hurt.

As an HD 5830 owner, I say buy the bloody GTX 460. It even overclocks better.

I think I will get the GTX 460 or GTX 465 ($150+) newegg today... The 5830 is going for $158 as well.... which one then is better?

If you're going gtx460. See if you can reach little bit deeper in your pocket for the 1GB flavor.
