Weird Inet problem. browser can't connect but other things can

i have this really odd problem i cant seem to solve.

once a day my pc gets to where my browsers cannot connect to the internet BUT other internet programs still work fine like IMs and email clients.

i have searched without any luck on a solution.

anyone know whats up with this crap?

i had this same problem before but it was an antivirus software i was using. i uninstalled it and it never happend again

i do not have a virus nor do i have any virus scanning software or antispyware software on this machine.

driver problem? maybe try the newest drivers for that LAN card

What about another PC? Another OS? Unbutu LiveCD or something similar. If another OS can't access it then the problem is in your connection.
