So I saw the re done Resident Evil 4 on sale on Steam and thought why not? The reviews are super positive and I really enjoyed Village. I never played the original incarnation so there was that too. The presentation is fine but the gameplay feels... clunky. I've only played an hour and a bit so I'll hopefully get into more but I am presently curious about the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Obviously just me.

Way different goals Resident Evil 7/8 is a major departure from the older games and after the poorly received RE6 made a lot of sense.

Resident Evil 2/3/4 remake are just updated versions of their glory days the gameplay has been improved but they are mostly trying to stay faithful.

It's ok to like one and not the other style I personally like the older games much more than 7/8 even part 6 I like better but everyones taste is different.

Of the remakes 2 is by far the best with 4 being decently better than 3.

Finished Until Dawn during the weekend. Feels very on rail, most of the gameplay is tied to QTEs. I still enjoyed it and seeing how it does appear to have multiple endings I might revisit it for Halloween.

I haven't got the patience to stick with Starfield, so I've uninstalled it and am preloading Forza Motorsport 8 which I'll start playing in about five hours time on Game Pass.
To be honest, my gaming habits have completely changed over the last couple of years. I still love a good shooter, a bit of platforming with Lara and definitely a good arcade racer. In other words, games you can dip into for a quick fix and adrenaline rush. A bit like that first beer on a Friday evening at 6 PM :)

I’ve got a huge amount of work infront of me, but for breaks: brotato. Excellent when you simply cannot give full time to gaming. I work all day long; 12-16 hours, but will play a round or three throughout the day when I need to step away. Def one of my favorites in a long time.

Man I wish I even had time to play something like GW2 loaded it up maybe a year ago games still pretty fun.

Yeah, it's actually aged pretty well. I hadn't popped in for a few months (before the latest expansion that I haven't bought), but just dropped it to do one of the daily tasks. I wish I had more time too. Way too many games I want to play at the moment.

Forza Motorsport 8 - loving it and a welcome break from the new NFS games with all those silly characters. Just fun racing in a serious arcade racer where it can be as easy or hard as you like.
The practice laps are a bit of a pain, but you can skip them. Mind you, it's not as if I don't need the practice, since I just race for fun, although those devil horns do come out to win.
Superb game, very polished, not too taxing on my system, but I have to keep it at medium settings, so it's a step up from FM 7 in that respect.

Throwing knives... lol. OP as hell, I don't even get to the poison effect :D

Trying out different options in these new skill trees. Mighty fun :) There is quite a lot of cross synergy between them, they did a great job on this now. For example, the added finisher chance and other finisher bonuses like 25% melee attack speed from Reflexes, cross over to any finishers with knives and vice versa. In the expansion, there's a duo of weapons Satori and Nehan at a vendor, that start with a bleed effect to make this go really stupid, basically giving you a finisher prompt at range after any first hit. And if it doesn't die from one finisher, you leap in with Satori for a super-bleed effect that drains life :D Oh, and guaranteed crits.

I gotta say, now that the combat is a bit better, this game is starting to win me over. Might actually do another playthrough; and this one's already sitting at 90 hrs. Also the expansion mission line is damn good.

I deescalated my typical hot and fast gameplay style to complete a few story missions and tackle a few of the tougher challenges this game offers. For the most part this took a single in game night feeling as if barely anything was being accomplished. Long awaited patch arrived yesterday making even repeated total failure easy enough to scrub off and find something to enjoy for a moment or two.

Honestly glad to have advanced a bit closer towards enjoyably playing stealth driven games in my backlog.

Having more fun with Chrono Trigger on Steam Deck than I expected, so I will probably be playing this for the foreseeable future, from what I understand its a fairly long game. I am bit of a slow reader at times, especially when relaxing, so I expect it will take me 40-50 hours to complete.

After this I am going back to playing the Batman Arkham games, just taking a short break from them. Never beat any of them, but I intend to binge play all of them by end of year. Even in Arkham Asylum which is the first one, the combat is honestly really engaging. For any who read this and decide to give it a try, I highly recommend editing the .ini file to match your monitor refresh rate, save as read only, there are two monitor refresh .ini files you have to edit for each batman game, its a bit annoying like that, but it works and looks very smooth once you do it. I had some issues figuring it out, but came across a random post that said save it as read only file once the files are edited. These games are surprisingly easy to run maxed out on latest hardware. I don't understand how old games like this look so damn good at 1440p and have no stutters, run very high frames, but modern AAA games look somewhat worse, etc... funny times we live in

Not sure about the remake, but the original Chrono on the SNES after you beat it you could use your same party charaters (gear and lvls) all over again from the start with a new game. Nice for building levels and getting multiple of the top loot. On top of that there is about 10 different endings depending on when to chose to beat it. First time through it is usually the main one with everything done and full story completed. 1995/1996 younger simpler times and when games didn't need a lifetime to finish.

Oh damn son. This is playable on Deck. Thanks for reminding me of this game :D

Yeah man... they had another expac a brief while ago. I used to jump in from time to time as well, it always takes me some getting used to again (plus clicking through the bucketloads of loot you get periodically :D), but when that's through, man, this MMO plays so well.

In other news... I can't find the 17th Cyberpsycho in Night City. F*ck!

Once you get 16, play a while longer, you get 17. It's not on the map - it's a specific job.

Having more fun with Chrono Trigger on Steam Deck than I expected, so I will probably be playing this for the foreseeable future, from what I understand its a fairly long game. I am bit of a slow reader at times, especially when relaxing, so I expect it will take me 40-50 hours to complete.

And when you're done you realise that

it has a dozen endings.

It is an amazing game for sure. A helpful hint: Fight as many things as you can. There will be a boss that is an unbelievable bitch if you're underleveled. Another hint: Resistances.

ADDING TO THIS I HAD NO IDEA

I DIDN'T NEED TO WIN THIS FIGHT

RoboCop: Rogue City Demo , love it , preorder it.

Oh yea I forgot all about that, will check it out.
I really hope it does well, because I have an ulterior motive: Robocop VS Terminator (rebooted) :D
