Little bit of a distraction when I'm not playing Forbidden West or when I want something simple 'and not open world' to play on the side.
Noticed that Boltgun was on Gamepass and its been a good while since I've played any Warhammer themed game.

Usually I'm not a big fan of the modern retro style but its alright with this one + at least its nicely gory. 'I did turn off the pixelation/retro filter as much as possible tho'
Finished it a while ago, started last week again on Exterminatus. It starts off easy there, but then purges get REAL

I honestly, for the life of me, can't understand why people insist games must be played at hard or more punitive settings.
Heck, I play to relax. Sure you can say there's no challenge in anything that ain't hard, but I don't want a challenge (most of the time, at least) - I want to freakin' let steam off.

For me it's as much about strategizing new tactics and extending replay value as it is the added challenge. There's also certain games that can become less of a hassle with a new mix of difficulty AND things like omitting upgrades and HUD. Case in point, Ghost Recon Wildlands on Tier One is very arcade feeling, because you pretty much have to upgrade to deal with the AI's super human reaction time and accuracy.

So after beating it on Tier One I decided to play it on Extreme with no HUD or upgrades. It was the most fun I had playing it. No silly convoys to constantly chase down, and the lack of HUD and upgrades made just getting to missions a fun adventure. I'd camp at a safehouse nearest the objective, then drive (often times on narrow backwoods trails) to get to the nearest chopper I could steal.

While it usually did take a trip or two to the objective to get it in memory, mostly to make my video walkthrough more fluid, I still ended up averaging less than 10 min per mission once I got it down, and that was starting and ending at a safe house.

Still trying to work through Cyberpunk 2077 but somehow I am not quite getting into it. YT comment sums it up, "it's amazing how many thing you need to web search for to figure this game out." Like the Delamain car hidden behind a building in a large search area, that doesn't even give you a proximity clue until you are already on top of it.

Caught FarCry 6 on sale, a big fan of some of the FC titles, though I read 6 wasn't as fun as FC5 and FC New Dawn. That's next after CP77.

Bought Blooons TD6 for $2, to find out it's either grind for hours, or hundreds $$$ to unlock all the actual content, crap should have been a free game then.

Finished the first episode of Scheming through the Zombie Apocalypse, an indie point'n'click adventure/visual novel with a twist. As Hank, a retired rabbit salesman, you scrounge around for essential supplies in a zombie-infested town. On your quest you are aided by your drug-dealing canine pal, Larry. It's a tough world out there, and you'll often be forced to choose what (or who) to sacrifice in order to survive:

1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

You may be able to convince other surviviors to do the dirty work for you. The loot can be bartered, or even gambled for some unique items:

4.jpg5.jpg6.jpg

There are multiple paths towards the goal, and your choices will be reflected in the quantity and the total value of the booty collected. This title will put your negotiation and persuasion skills to the test. The developers cite the classic works of Robert Cialdini as the main inspiration for the game. Don't get fooled by the cartoony graphics, there is a lot of foul language here, as well as constant references to drugs, alcohol, and sex. They all add to the dark humor of the game, and the incongruity between the adult themes and the cutesy animals makes the whole setting genuinely funny. The voice acting is really good, too.

The game is currently on sale on Steam, bundled with the second episode for $5.

Ngl, I played "60 Seconds" with one of my friends 10 minutes ago, and it's better when you play with somebody because lots of jokes can be made in this game

A lot of people are apparently playing Fallout games again, but I like to punish myself so I'm playing Fallout 4 from the start again and ... god it's so dumb. The mind boggles at the mind that can craft such madness.

Not sure if its still relevant to you but apparently theres a Forbidden West shader toggle mod 'requires reshade' that allows you to disable the hero light:
ForbiddenHerolight1.jpg
https://www.nexusmods.com/horizonforbiddenwest/mods/63
I wasn't that bothered by that personally but I will admit this looks better. 'not sure about possible side effects/artifacts so I will keep it enabled and see what happens'

I'm going to go through 4 again with a bunch of mods soon since official ultra wide support is supposed to arrive 4/25. I've tried a couple of ultra wide mods, but the game keeps crashing, so hopefully that'll stop.

Benchmark Scores bench ? no time to lose with bench ! :)
Just finished Need for Speed Most Wanted (the one by Criterion, 2013) on PC.
Already done it on PS3 and found it good, replayed a bit on PC, 5 or 4 years ago and found it boring.
Another chance and found it OK :)
It's a odd entry for the serie, no cars to purchase, they're parked around the town, jump in and drive the one you want.
The goal is to defeat the 10 most wanted racers. When you've got enough SP point (by doing races or destroying billboads / fences, or simply doing some objectives), you can defy one.
A one on one race, and when defeat the guy, you have to ram into his car to obtain it.
Of course the Police will watch and chase you.
It adds some pepper to the race, the Police is uber aggressive ! There some goods moments, racing fast, Police rams from every sides, very intense..
Can be hair pulling too, sometimes a little bump and there you crash into a wall.
You can upgrade the car, but again no money, so all you have to do is wining normal races, each win give you an upgrade : mixed tyres, long or short gearbox ...
You can upgrade again with a Pro version by doing some objectives : crash 10 Police cars, drive some miles offroad ...
Of course it's an Burnout game with beautiful licensed cars, it's a Criterion game after all.
As usual the sounds are among the best for a racing game.

My favorite car ever made : the Lexus LF-A. You can see there is a night / day cycle in the game

Capture d’écran (5).png

Selling a Nissan GT-R, low mileage, almost in good shape.

Capture d’écran (4).png

While a bit simple, graphics are still good with the help of many effects / particles and honest textures (for a 10 years game)

It's pretty boring, but with emphasis on pretty.
I prefer very much Criterion's NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered to it, though. There are some missions truly sweat-worthy and it looks DEAD GORGEOUS on my UW OLED screen.

I actually enjoyed 2012. You have to remove the expectation it is anything like 2005 MW though. For what it is, it is fun, if nearly completely rudderless. Just pure 100% arcade racing, nothing more, nothing less.

Oh, and Veyron4life :D AFAIR M3 sucked there though. That one I absolutely have to give to MW2005 and Carbon.

That said, Paradise is still IMO best Criterion racing game out there.

Exciting Sprint Race and Quali session. Should be a good race tomorrow!

The Crew lyf4vr :p

Finally came across a fix to playable character eyes in COTW Angler.
Near a record fish as you can come without actually doing the deed.

I'll be playing Mad Max again later, but in the meantime I've been watching a girl playing Alien Isolation for the first time. I keep moving my mouse, telling her to save, duck, go right, left and to look behind her!
That's one scary game and one of the best I've ever played for total immersion
Oh and she has her heart monitor showing on-screen!
