$1000-$1200 is what I would ask for it. You have some really good stuff in there.

EVIL IDEA: get a noob, show him your pc running a game at max settings and sell it for a bit more 1300€:) , i'm not saying that is good to trick noobs, but if you need more money than wath you're expecting to get, this is an option :toast:

Do you think I would get £700-£800 for it including an official Windows XP HE

The reason Im thinking of selling is because I want to build a PC based on a Micro-ATX mobo so I can have my PC sat on my desk and Im willing to lose my monitor/speakers because Im going to use my Toshiba 20" widescreen LCD TV as a monitor/speakers.

thats not a bad rig. you could built it with all new parts for not that much though. id upgrade the cpu before selling it. that would easily help when selling it to someone that doesnt know much about computers.

£700 or so at the moment - max... The probem is I can spec out a PC of parts that will be quicker thna that for £500 right now, and a 17" monitor is £80 these days... Decent keyboard and mouse is £30, so for a die-hard a faster build is only £600-ish.

If I was you I would pop across to www.overclockers.co.uk and pick up the 4000+ SD they have on offer - £75 - got one myself for some testing, all of them are doing 3ghz+ on 1.45v max... So that would be a big upgrade (FX-59), and that sandy 3700+ would get £60 to £70 on the bay...

Thing is, he can sell it to someone that cant yet build their own, and "labor" is your friend :)

Don't take it so personally when you ask for opinions. In my opinion, you'd be lucky to get $800+ USD for it. Parts prices have dropped BIGTIME and there is not much market for single core PC's as well. I have a friend that just build a Conroe PC for under $1000US including a 19" Widescreen LCD. Parts prices have made our stuff worth much much less than what we paid. Just look at my system specs and I bet I would have a tough time getting $1K+ (not including my LCD). I easily have $2K+ invested just into the tower.

Oh no, I wasnt offended m8 as I did ask for opinions. But I live in the UK and the prices for parts are a bit more over here. I use Overclockers.co.uk for my parts as they are one of the cheapest around, yet it would still be hard to build a system with 'better' specs (thats what he said, better not the same) then mine for £500 using brand new parts, thats a fact! And he compared my Razer CopperHead mouse to some piece of crap that you would get in a £30 keyboard & mouse bundle!

I should have stated I meant how much would my setup be worth to someone who doesnt have the skill to build their own gaming system?

I live in Canada and we get screwed almost as badly as Europe. I'd say for the most part our prices are very comparible with Europes, but our taxes are only 14%, not the 25%+ as most of Europe. And if you really want to see the highest prices on Earth, check out Australia. They pay more than anyone else on the planet for hardware, it is scary to see the horrible prices and the terrible availability.

@ hookeystreet: I don't think he was comparing them to cheapos, just stating that a decent budget set is cheap to get and most people wouldn't know what to do with a quality mouse anyways.

I do alot of pricechecking in the UK because you have more availability of parts than Canada and I seem to not get charged as much to import from the UK than the US. The sad part is that when I buy from the UK I don't have to pay VAT so that makes it a good buy for me. Fucking taxes.......

Decent Keyboards cost £15 to £25, you just have to know where and how to look. As for mice, this is totaly subjective... I hate the Razor mice, and I like the old-school logitech ones... Decent mice aren't going to add £30 to your sale price unless you find somebody specifically interested...

Ok, so that 17" TFT has a nice refresh, £110 then... But I wouldn't buy a 17" TFT, not enough resolution and it's just as cheap to get a decent 19" (almost).

I build gaming PC's for a living, so I think I know the market better than most...

As for the £500 conundrum, post your average FEAR framerate (overclock all you like) and your 3DMark 05 score...

how much would you sell the 1800XT for, that is of course if you are selling parts individually, as i would be happy to give you my X1600Pro which i brought and hasnt even been opened yet along with some money? Sorry if im sounding kind of cheap, i dont have as much money as everybody else. EDIT oh and the x1600 is AGP which would probably present a problem

Dont get me wrong m8, I wasnt judging your PC knowledge and I myself know how much the price of PC parts fluctuate (on a daily basis most of the time)

As for the £500 system (brand new, not second hand), I know mines not 'top-spec' but surely you couldnt build one for that price that includes an official Windows XP HE with a CrossFire mobo etc.......??? (if you could build one, online obviously, I would like to see it....thats not meant to be sarcastic either m8, I would be intrested to see it)

My 3DMark05 score is in my sig (thats with no overclocking of CPU, RAM, GFX card etc)

I havent got F.E.A.R installed and the moment so I cant tell you my FPS on that (and I cant be bothered to install it LOL)

This is what you must beat m8 (and use just one website otherwise P+P costs will mount up and rise the total build cost):

I sell pc's quite a bit, my best estimate for that would be 800-1000 USD including a LEGAL copy of windows. Its not that its bad, but realize its used. It's like building your own car... it may be fast, it may look nice, but nobody knows how its been used or abused, and theres not many people that are willing to actually pay what its really worth.

Yeah, thats true and I know this but V-Zero stated that he could build a new system thats better than what I have for £500 and this sounds impossible to me!!!!

If you take into account buying LCD's with overdrive chips to get that low response time, and flashing a GTO2 to an X1800XT, he may not be THAT far off.

But a flashed GTO2 wouldnt be 'better', it would be the same (technically)......but he said 'better' not 'the same as'
