Hi,

i have a huge problem, last night I was playing some video games on my gaming laptop and all of the sudden the image went bonkers and I couldn't see anything. I had to restart the machine but everytime it booted up, I got the error "S
rttrail.txt", after that I got the error "0xc0000001", and today this keeps going on for some reason. Is it from the gpu? Or from windows?
I uploaded one screenshot of the background image of the laptop, the forground is cmd prompt.
On the background image the one with artefacts, when I scroll over it, they drag like a snake. What the hell is this? Is my gpu fried?
I am trying a pc reset of windows now, see if that helps.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Looks like GPU memory failing.

Try to underclock the vram of the GPU, if it stays like that, possibly time for a new laptop.

Hp omen 17, gpu is rtx 2070, cpu is i7-9750h, 16gb ram, 1tb hdd, 512gb ssd+ 1tb ssd samsung evo. I didn't overclock, I undervolted the cpu and underclocked the gpu. And it's been like that for about 2 and half years. Can underclock on gpu cause it to fail? I knlw overclocking does that, but never heard of underclocking to cause issues.

Well that's the problem, can't even boot the laptop at this point, I need to reinstall windows probably and try after that.
And what is Mats ?

This is consistent with VRAM failures I've had in the past, specifically with the Radeon 6870. One of the DRAM ICs is probably on the fritz. Sorry, man.

Check if it still has warranty. Otherwise sell it as broken on ebay. Someone will pick it up.
