I now own NFS shift & been playing with the lad via home lan. Just we hate playing driving games on a keyboard !

Whats a good usb pad thats going give me analog steering & throttle control.

Must be commonly avaible in uk.

i got an old logitech rumblepad 2 and it's very usable .. fine control could be better though

And you can get analog trottle on NFS shift ?

I ask as i already av one on these cheap ps2 to pc port pads from game. Thing is i carnt seem to get the right analog stick to have smooth trottling on this NFS shift. Its just full or nothing like a button !

Wired xbox360 pad! Best you will probably get for it. Or wireless if you get the dongle for them, as far as i know there is no difference between the one marketed as the pc or 360 wired pad.

So i'll be ok to get a wired xbox 360 pad. Just this NFS games trottle best not be on / off like my other cheapy pad or i'll of waisted my money. I need two of them.

I would have thought so, It does with Dirt and Grid. I would download the demo for NFS and double check for you but my internet is snail paced at the moment.

get a wireless 360 pad and sit back on the sofa like i do. Plus they work great in all Pc game these days. And alot of games are designed for the x360 pad refering to moves as a,b,ls,rs etc. Infact all 'games for windows' menus refer and designed for use with the xbox pad, Although that doesnt mean you cant use others.

I can confirm these do work with need for speed shift. I have never found a game that wanted to play on a pad that these didnt work on.

Here are my two little babys in their recharging cradle. They recharge just by plugging in at the USB.

Yeah two wired 360 pads me thinks. I no need for wireless i have twin gaming pc's with desks & monitors in my living room. So sitting back on the sofa while gaming not really an option.

If you need something a little bit on the inexpensive side and have a Fry's near you....

It's basically a X360 controller without force feedback. Oh and it does work with X360 as well.

Ah well i throw the desktop over to my 40" and stick street fighter on, the only time i can take out my frustation legally

yes, works fine as analog for me

yeah, wired XBOX 360 ftw. No need for a PC usb receiver and no battery hassle. Just plug play and forget. No maintenance needed.

As for NFS Shift, The left and right trigger acts as the brakes and gas respectively. They are analog and how much you press on it is equivalent as to how much pressure you put on the pedals.

why would you need maintanence because they are wireless? That makes no sense.
You simply turn on the pad and it works .....

Just the batteries. Sure the battery life is long. But still, it loses its charge overtime (kind of a hassle when you want to play with friends and batteries are on low) Where as wired once, all you need to worry about is you being wired (which he was anyway since his keyboard and mouse is wired). Hence the "plug and forget" mindset.

Plus he has a 21". You wont be playing way off away from the monitor with that size...

I just know that if you don`t tune the controls right no matter the pad you will have bad game experience.
