What phone you use as your daily driver? And, a discussion of them.

I have an iPad 3 running iOS 9.3.6 and it works great. However it ground to a complete halt a few years ago, it would just lock up and could not do anything even after multiple restarts. Force wiped it a few times connected to a computer and it eventually was able to restore and it works very well now. Turns out that reinstalling the OS every decade or so helps a ton with performance! Your iPad 2 CPU is identical, the 3 just has a faster GPU to deal with the Retina screen so you should be able to restore performance if you're interested and have a free afternoon to wrestle with it.

BIG word of caution: many of your Apps/Games may no longer be available from the store as the Devs pulled them over time, so you should do a local Mac/PC backup of the iPad, including all your iOS Apps. I couldn't do this because mine was unresponsive and lost about 1/3 of my games, including ones no longer available like all 3 Infinity Blades.

Dammit!

Good luck!
I actually have an iPad 2 with iOS 9.3.5 and actually posted here on TPU's general nonsense thread like two years ago and I was hella surprised that TPU forums rendered perfectly fine even with a device that old.

Though I don't have a 30pin Apple cable and my microUSB -> 30 pin adapter is power-only, I would otherwise put some music to that. And refurbish it as it has a cracked (yet fully working) glass. Just not worth it, I paid a whole cigarette pack to my friend for that 7 years ago.

Currently I have a Mi 9T bought in 2019. It's pre-pandemic. Still strong, and after changing its battery still feels like a very competent phone. But 2 years of no security updates... So Tomorrow arrives a 14T Pro. I only hope I get the same result of my beloved 9T.

I bought a 9T at launch. Great phone and still works great at my father's hands (and he gives no hoots about updates). Gave it to him after I bought myself a Galaxy Note10 on sale to experiment with the S Pen.

I run a P8Pro with a Spiegen Tough Armor (aka thicc) case and I have never struggled to put it in a pocket. Maybe some breast pockets on button-down shirts, but I rarely put it in there anyways.

I browse the internet and watch a fair amount of Youtube on my phone, so the big screen is nice.
Fair. My opinion is just my opinion.

I cycle everywhere, spend 11 months a year in shorts and refuse to carry a bag unless absolutely essential. I'm way more active than most people and large phones poke me in the hips becuase they're longer than my pockets are deep. Rear pockets are useless to me, and I live in a city so walking around with my phone poking out of a rear pocket isn't just uncomfortable, it's certifiably stupid.

Death of security updates is what ends phones for me. I have six-digit balances in crypto and fiat linked to apps on my phone, there's no room for security loopholes.

Bargain today, let alone 7 years ago.
Fuck that, it was hard to let go back then, let alone now...

iPad 2 still sucks, sucked in 2018, sucks now. Sucks more than I suck them cigarettes then and now.

It opens a webpage, email, music and video right? What more do you want for a pack of cigs? :D

A damn cable that I can put music to that? But noo I didn't get one

On the other hand, friend gave me hella lot of beers but that's an another story if I can remember that

16 pro max 512gb… great phone… over priced af… I said to myself no buying phones until 2030
Not till they shut down 4g for 6g and your phone won't work. They seem to do that more frequently now. 3G got shut down here in the USA and now a lot of phones won't work and now the phones also have to support VoLTE in addition so a lot of 4g phones don't work too.

I hate women's pants never having pockets and when they do they put em in the back which is the worst spot cuz pickpockets... ugh.

Specially finding faux leather leggings with large side pockets is like a unicorn or something. Specially in 2xl cuz I got a big booty lol.

They expect us ladies to carry a purse but that's not practical all the time.

is that what you do in your office? :D
Yeah, when there's no work, or when I finished early  I done all work on my station about noon yesterday

after my rog 5s starting to have issues.

finally pulled the plug on the rog 9 pro.
i was once a firm believer of no punch hole, symmetrical front firing speakers, and headphone jack

but once i learned about you can hide the punch hole by just turning off the screen on the top part of the display, and the cases have this small channel that redirects sound to the front.
rog 9 pro seems a good choice, got the 24/1TB version for quite a lot of money, but no problem so far

Broke my Pixel 8 Pro. Back to Pixel 6.

maybe you can talk to customer service with google and ask for an estimate on the repair cost? maybe they will be kind and waive it or give you discount?

I am pessimistic about that. After the fall the screen was on, but once shut down it refused to turn back on. Probably a lot more damage than just the glass.

worst they can say is no or give you too high of an estimate price though? so why not just ask?

One plus 8 pro still my main, but recently had to replace my g9 play, I ended up with a g55. The g9 play developed a bulging battery, it spent most of its life jacked into charger, so now its on a smart plug with a schedule configured which keeps the charger off most of the time to prevent a repeat.
The stock g55 protective cover was very hard to press the power button, luckily the aftermarket one I got off amazon is much better, and also with a nice image at the back as a bonus, and with more cover on the sides.
Had to ditch aodnotify as looks like dev hasnt got it working with A14. Luckily found an alternative app.
