3440x1440p @ 100Hz. Woulda been 4k if the 1080Ti would have come out quicker....

@Knoxx29 i'd wait man.. dead pixels = no RMA grounds = no help. And these come with dead pixels often enough, they still can't guarantee you the screen will be 100% proper, it's why it's in the EULA.

Don't know if you've had this happen to you, but trust me, you do notice it when it does. And because humans are humans, after you do notice it? Eeeeverytime your eyes are on the screen they will tend to focus on that one dead pixel; everytime. Of all the pixels in that monstrocity, your eyes will search for the one that differs. Because it's dead :)
And that is assuming you get only one dead, could be more. Lastly, i'd be pretty pissed if this happened to me, considering their current cost; i'd seriously wait this out in your shoes. I am too.
(considered one @1080p but with all the new toys available -i'd like to do away with vertical sync at some point- until i started reading reviews)

What should i wait?

tech will be tech.. sooner or later, they will improve; both in design and manufacturing processes. And in the meantime, they'll also become cheaper, so lesser the sting if it does happen to you.

I want/ed to buy this:

ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q curved IPS Gaming Monitor - 34" 21:9 Ultra-wide QHD
(3440x1440),
overclockable 100Hz , G-SYNC™

View attachment 84848 View attachment 84849

The word ( Overclockable ) tempt me a lot:laugh:

But honestly i don't know if it's worth to upgrade from my current Monitor to this one:confused:

@P4-630

Any thoughts?

Pro: Well, you can get rid of that ex-gf scratch if you buy a new monitor..:)
Cons: I doesn't come cheap me thinks.

If you have the cash, why not!
Or if you can still live with that scratch, :ohwell: use your money for something else then.

Edit: @Knoxx29 Personally I couldn't live with such a scratch you have on your monitor as I have seen, it would very much annoy me all day every day! I would buy a new one if I had the cash, but hey that's just me! :)

1080p, 60hz.

Until higher resolution monitors @24" -or less- format become mainstream, or relatively cheap, high refresh rate ones with decent quality do, or both. Other than that, expanding on the monitor level (adding extra ones) works for me, though not quite helpful in the gaming department. >_>

1080p 144hz, Samsung C24FG70 Quantum Dot VA amazing color!

1440p or 4k depending upon the game.

That scratch with the Monitor on or off you don't see it at all, i noticed it accidentally

LOL! Well I could see it very clearly on the photo though!

Anyways if you can live with it ,keep it a little longer then!:)

Voted... but you already have quite a bit of this data: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey

Not sure what half the resolutions are in the list.. see reference:
resos.png

2560 x 1080 Ultra wide.

1080p, because 144Hz, hell yeah baby!

LOL! Well I could see it!

Of course you do.

The only way to see the scratch it's if you point a flashlight directly where it is and all lights in the room are off, or if you take a pic with a camera/handy in the area where the scratch is, otherwise you wont see it.

1080p on desktop
768p on laptop

1080p @ 74Hz. Getting a 3x1080p surround setup though as I get my main PC running again.

I know this thread is about gaming, but has any of you low-res guys ;) tried a higher resolution screen for productivity? I used to have a secondary 1080p to my old 2048x1152 screen, but now I don't even need that with 1440p. I can run two applications side by side on the same screen and it really makes life a simpler. I don't understand why people wouldn't want higher resolution screens (not taking budget/cost into consideration), but hey, each to their own.

Not everyone has a gpu capable of gaming at 1440p

1440P @ 144hz

I run apps side by side on my 1080p all the time. I'm just typing this from half the screen and other half is playing Youtube or Netflix. Having 1440p and 144Hz and expecting anything good from that, you won't get it. I'm following my own rule of lagging behind with monitors, because that gives me massive benefit on GPU spending. And I rather play at 1080p with everything at Ultra than 1440p and settings turned down.
