My son told me all the video editing software for his personal use and youtube was discontinued. So I'm looking for a recommendation.

I don't mind paying for good video editing software. He doesn't need too advanced.

Thanks.

I use DaVinci Resolve 14 for my YouTube videos, and I've messed with Kdenlive a bit. Both are free and very capable, but Kdenlive is open source, harder to use, and supports DVD authoring.

I use Corel have for years and have no issues paying for it.

Corel VideoStudio is a powerful video editor that is affordable, doesn't require PhD, and there is a free trial version.

I use adobe premiere elements. I used to use Premiere Pro, but its not really worth it unless you are making money off your videos.

MAGIX VEGAS Pro 17

Premiere Pro, Premiere Elements and Davinci are the the most common ones our users are interested in.

davinci also is free

I use many: shotcut, openshot, vsdc, premiere pro, davinci resolve, adobe rush, etc.

Rush and Premiere Pro are paid. Others I use are free.

Sony Vegas movie studio is like $60 and so easy to use
Very user friendly It will walk you threw the features. others will not

Elements is also cheap but Sony has better features for the money

Davanci Resolve is by far the best free editing software but it's a traditional non linear editor so it might take a few minutes of watching youtube videos to figure out

Definitely this, I'd suggest this as the way to go. It is great and really powerful software.
