I have a 5850 in a I7 920 and it runs better than when it was ran in my 965BE system? i still dont get the point?

There you go, much better results, think you found your answer, if you want to try a bit more, swap HDD's, but that shouldn't make that large of a difference.

I only have Socket 370/Socket A (462) and Socket 478 Systems in my house!!!!
I never had a better system than those and though i run win7 on my best system:

Pentium4 3.20GHz
NVidia GeForce 7800GS
2GB DDR Ram Dual Channel
160GB WD 7200rpm

And with a 3D Mark 2001 Score of 1181 im really proude of it, and im not planing

Because i have scored 22,920 with the following set up, in 3D Mark 2001,

AMD 3700+ 2.2GHz
Nvidia 7600GT
1 or 2GB of DDR400

and this was from 3yrs ago.

Edit: I also remember my M8s old 478 system and it's specs are the same as yours but had a 7600GT AGP and it scored around 17,000 in 3DMark 2001

Don't think of me as a douche. But there's nothing to expect from such an old card. Its whole potential wouldn't even come close to Intel GMA 4500 even!

not at the point when this hardware was made, it's more ford + edelbrock and chevy + holley,

they can certainly swap without issue but for some reason that's what's been most common for aftermarket mods on older muscle cars I've seen.

in this case it was actually more common to find a geforce 4 ti (or FX5900) + athlon xp and P4 + 9800 than it was athlon xp + 9800 and P4 + geforce 4 ti (or FX5900)

this was mostly due to the popularity of the nforce2 chipset for the 462 platform.



at any rate there are pretty big variations that would determine which is faster item 1 on the 2800+ is it a Thoroughbred or barton? and if barton does it have a 266MHZ fsb or 333?

Well its not as high as i thought it should be (for your main rig) You should be scoring about the same if not more then my m8s old rig since you have a 7800GS. I have a feeeeling its windows 7 that's slowing it down? i ran SLi 7600GTs in windows 7 and it could barely run COD5, went back to XP and i could run the game at Medium settings.

Whats the ATi 9800 equivalent to?

I have an old score here with a AMD 2100+ with a FX5700 and it scored just under 9000 in 3DMark 2001
