I'm considering buying a 7900 XTX, the sapphire nitro higher end one is on sale for $1029 locally. could sell my 6800 xt and ps5 to help cover the cost of it. I honestly will never use my PS5, its just collecting dust. lol

@freeagent you know you want to. *eats popcorn*

I think what you currently have is more balanced you basically have the best of all 3 worlds Decent gpu, decent handheld, and a decent console that has probably the most non pc exclusives.

Sure the 7900XTX will give you 40-50% more fps and similar power usage but given what amd and nvidia are charging I'm not sure that's enough. The one area where the 7900XTX destroys your 6800XT is RT but I've seen you say countless times F!!!! RT lol.

For me even going with the 4090 to replace my 3080ti was a debate even with it's somtimes 2x RT improvements and 60-80 percent raster improvement depending on game and that only ended up costing me about $300 out of pocket.

I still wouldn't have done it if it required me selling my PS5. I have a personal rule if I have to sell somthing in order to buy somthing I can't afford it.

On a side note I'm glad people can still get a decent cooler for a 7600/7700 for less than 20 bucks.

Just completed benchmarking. The NVME is on PCIe x4. Pagefile and temps now moved to the Z: drive (nvme) for speedups.

AIDA64 NVME x4 diskbench.png

Note that the NVME drive is about 4x faster than the SSD. However, if you run the NVME in a PCIe x1 slot (rather than a x4 slot), the speeds are similar to the SSD.

Moving TEMP, TMP and pagefile is done via Settings / Control Panel / System / Advanced System Settings, alternatively, Menu Search SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe

Moving the Chromium cache directory requires a registry value. Same for Google Chrome. Use the attached file as a guide.

Not new, but newly repaired!
Focal Listen headphones (200€ new)

Had a guy replace one of the speakers for 20€ (stopped working after 3 years).

And bought and replaced with new earpads 22€ (I know it's a steal but shipping is costly to my country). Both earpads were completely torn off due to wear and tear.

42€ to bring old headphones back to life.. Worth it! Sounds amazing, just as I remember it.

Not exactly a new purchase, but I just swapped the right-click button on my G502 Hero (bought a pair when the left one was failing in April 2021).
I swear that if a single another issue arises with this mouse, I'm getting a new one (I'm looking at those optical switches-equipped Razers, they may rid me of this plague for good).

Bought the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO headphones.
While the 9 years old Sennheiser HD6 mix still works the leather on headband is deteriorating and the top rubber has decided to separate too.
Compared to the HD6 the DT 770 is more neutral, less emphasis on the bass. It's also a lot lighter and doesn't clamp as hard.
Only minor thing is the fixed cable.

left and right buttons making loose contact - sometimes not registering the clicks or hold-downs? Had this reoccuring issue with the G502 Hero and replaced it with razer basilisk v3 (thank god the synapse app is no longer problematic). https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...st-tech-purchase.225885/page-605#post-4965168

I did find a video link to fix the issue at its core but the razers been fantastic so far and got a little lazy (still pending):

Totally get your frustration... mine was the right button in FPS gaming, the gun scope kept dropping off.

I got a Macbook Air M1 for uni. Hardware-wise, its honestly extremely cool, specially since it's an ARM64 machine.
macOS feels rather clunky, tho.

Bass response is often tied with if not clamping force, seal. Does bass change considerably if push them against your ears with equal pressure or adjust their placement?

Precisely. I dare you to tell me a bigger love story than Logitech gear and chattering.
Further than replacing both left (apr/21) and right (yesterday) clickers due to them chattering (unintended double-clicks, clicks not registered or hold failing), I had similar failure with my G810 Romer-G keys (which I also replaced some, but then more started failing so I gave up).
I replaced the G810 with my current Huntsman Elite, and I tell you I look fondly at either the Viper and Basilisk mice to replace the G502 when it fails again. How does the Basilisk ergonomics shape up against the G502, if I may ask?

How does the Basilisk ergonomics shape up against the G502, if I may ask?

I wanted a replacement with something that almost replicates the size/body-work of the G502 since it sits perfectly in my palm (felt tailor-made from day one). The RBV3 does exactly that.. almost down to the mm. First impressions- it did feel a tiny bit smaller maybe its due to some height discrepancy or the textured (lightly coarse) body work or weighing less out of the box. You won't notice any difference after a couple of days. It does feel a little heavier on the front hence takes a couple game sessions to adjust but once the familiarity kicks in.... its the best piece of kit ive used to-date (then again i felt the same way about the G502).

My biggest fear was the synapse app coming from a never failing G HUB... it sucked in the past but looks like razers got all that crap ironed out - so far so good!

Quick headsup: scroll wheel is made of some rubber material... i kinda like it. Infinite or free-mode scrolling isn't as fast as the G502 but i'm happy with it - i hardly need it for the gaming machine. The scroll wheel mechanism feels a little loose (by design, wobble-like) on both the G502 and RBV3, although this is more noticeable on the G502 with some added clunk. Scroll wheel side (left to right) clicks are way better and register on first attempt every time on the RBV3 but not something i rely on. Unlike the G502 the RBV3 has no weight bar adjustment but i'm more than happy with the out of the box experience. I find the RBV3 a lot more smoother on the mouse pad but thats an unfair assessment since my G502's bottom ice skaters have been worn out over time. Finally i got used to the quick 2-button back and forth DPI selection on the G502.. that was a nice feature. The RBV3 uses the traditional method with one button in the centre = sequential selection.

Can't really comment on user experience with input latency and all the other yadda nada... i don't see much difference in all of that stuff (although some have suggested otherwise).

ok i better stop the non-ergonomic wall-text-attack... just one last thing... razers appearance has grown on me, the sexier of the two for sure!

Following @VSG review I've decided to give Truthear x Crinacle ZERO a try. Will update once they get here.

Bass response is often tied with if not clamping force, seal. Does bass change considerably if push them against your ears with equal pressure or adjust their placement?
yeah, the bass becomes much heavier. Maybe also because the HD6 have leather ear cups?

Oh yeah, imagine customs opening the box to check the content. They'll probably put me on some list.

From your description it does sound like these are either a poor fit for your head or the ear cups are not quite sealing. Not making a definitive statement. Something to consider the first few days though. If the music sounds correct and they are comfortable I'd just forget about it. Overaccentuated highs, modulating midrange, or lean lows on the other hand won't improve, rather the opposite.

Those Sennheiser are beat.

Ahh if you had told me in advance I'd have said wait for the updated version coming out soon. But should still be plenty good of course!
Well they still haven't sent it out. Technically I could cancel the order. Any details?
Nope, saw an email that they shipped them out.

It's fine, doesn't change the part where that is still a good product. The newer version also seems to have the same large nozzle sadly so it'll be more a tuning sidegrade from what I see.

Asus Proart B650. This beauty will be coupled with a 7600X until zen5 arrives.

Other parts will arrive one by one within a few days, might post them too.
