Artic Freezer 420 AiO for my new 12700k. I appreciate how much quieter this is than my 11900k/TEC/H20 AiO was, even at full tilt. Cools great too, though I am probably gonna get a socket brace. $129 US and free shipping.

I never had a cavity in my entire life and I credit two things for that, getting a cleaning once a year at the Dentist and using a high powered toothbrush (you have to spend at least 30-40 bucks to get one high powered, its not like the cheap powered ones you can get for 8 bucks at walmart)

I know you probably know this, just explaining for those who have no idea what we talking about. lol

edit: also probably the fact i don't drink alcohol or eat candy has helped me never get a cavity. lol
I have had cavities since I was like 8. I did enjoy candies and how the hell did you survive Halloween or Xmas? When I read the story about Jesus turning the water into wine I knew that beers were fine. Oral B and up electric toothbrushes are like going from Logitech to real speakers with oomph.

Cheap keyboard. Cherry's software is fundementally broken, so I'm stuck with that colour. Brown switches. Not as loud as I expected apart from the sopace bar. At least it doesn't rattle. Will see how it holds up compared to the chunky Dell keyboards I usually use...

Ikenai borderline!
Phanteks P600S + Liquid Freezer II 420 to fit in the front + extra Arctic P14 fans for the rad so that I can do push/pull (I bought a 5-pack because it's cheaper than buying 3 P14s alone, go figure). Strongly considering an RM850x SHIFT PSU just for the side-mounted cables, because I love tinkering with my builds and even in the P600S (which is an amazing chassis that I'm already in love with) it's a PITA trying to manage PSU cables.

On one hand, an 850W gold-rated PSU would be a downgrade from the 860W Platinum I already have, I already have way too much hardware that I don't need, and I bought a house a month ago. On the other... I just switched energy suppliers away from Shell and they let me know that they're refunding me over £700, plus I just got an above-inflation raise, plus it's Black Friday.

I hear you on that I just bought a 5900x for $349 Canadian that is like $254 US for a 12 core 24 thread monster. I will be using it in a mining rig though.

Mining what in 2023?
AMD CPUs like the 5900 series will give you about $4 a day mining on Nicehash. That is easily $1500 a year and power draw is a non issue with a CPU that does not go above 90 watts while mining.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
i guess i'm gonna gamble then ...

my attempt at getting the same screen ;)
1700691367690.png

given my experience with AliExpress ... i think it will go well, i would have loved ordering it on Temu rather ... but both have their advantages
Temu is bloody awesome and fast (half the delivery time of AE most of the time ) and always free shipping even when shipping with DPD or Asendia and some prices are better
AliExpress ... well sometime like 11.11 or black week/friday they have unbeatable offers ...

in addition to the screen i ordered, for my Galaxy Buds Live
1700691617427.png

and out of curiosity
1700691662679.png
well i still have my KA1 and the Q11 ... but out of all the DAC chips i tested i never had a Conexant CX31993, i saw 1 or 2 reviews who mentioned it to be not bad ... but i don't think i will regret a 6$ buy like that

edit ... and the best device to drive my KZ x HBB Pr2 ... bloody hell! i tried them with the Ally ... DAMN... almost sound better than with the Q11 o_O
edit 2... Linsoul shipped my upgrade cable for them :D

I got the Deck OLED tonight, late night 8pm delivery from UPS... crazy fast wth... so far here are my thoughts:

nvme drive is insanely slow, I only get 9 to 12 down on wifi6e or through ethernet cable, where as on my Deck LCD that has a sabrent rocket nvme gen4 drive I get 80-90 down on ethernet cable. so ugh... valve really cheaping on nvme drives is kind of pathetic considering how cheap nvme drives are, especially when bought at volume. so if I keep the Deck OLED I have to now invest in a gen4 drive because the download speeds are atrocious and outright pathetic for a $600 device. i am so used to downloading games at 80-90 download through ethernet on my LCD, this was an unpleasant shock to say the least. might as well use flash ssd storage at these speeds Valve, and save yourself even more money.

display for LCD and OLED are about equal in brightly lit games after the LCD srgb steamos update (I'd say OLED is maybe 5-10% better in bright games, but 40-60% better in dark games, but in brightly lit games not as much of an improvement as I thought), and display calibration has been done on both. for dark games the OLED is superior, but all the youtubers and reviewers were revewing Deck LCD before this srgb 30-40% increase update that the Deck LCD update got, distorting the reviews heavily. OLED is superior true, but not by much and mostly in dark games once both displays are calibrated and set to around 60-70% brightness

fan is just as loud as my Deck LCD one is to my ears, cause my Deck LCD came with the upgraded fan dampener since it was a newer model. you can measure technical noise levels all you want, i legit can't tell a difference

Deck OLED is noticeably lighter and this is a good thing, but as someone who most plays in bed due to my scoliosis and other medical issues, i usually have it sitting on something anyway, so weight is none factor for me. this is however a nice bonus regardless.

battery life is improved which is nice. overall its a decent upgrade, but I am not blown away, not for the cost of it anyway. The main detriments are the nvme drive is so slow on write valve should be ashamed of themselves, and I am still a little worried about OLED burn in in 2-3 years down the road, simply because I like to play at 80% brightness usually... overall its around a $350 upgrade for me after selling the Deck LCD... lets add another 100 to that cause I have to upgrade the nvme drive cause valve is pathetic... so about half a grand, and I am not sure a slightly better screen is worth half a grand for my particular use cases. heh oh well.

these are my thoughts on the Deck LCD glossy vs Deck OLED glossy. no I do not care about your criticisms of my thoughts, this is just my experience using both, it is what it is.
