Vegas is a great game, bf2142 was enjoyable but short lived (it's just not bf2), FEAR rocks.
Hows that for FPS in 2006 not bad i reckon. Elsewhere DOW 40k=awesome, and Star Wars empire at war (2006????).
I'm looking forward to Crysis (duh) and C+C3 looks great (but then its C+C), MOH Airborne and Ghost Recon 2.
Think i'm gonna have to start saving for March.

I've been waiting for another "GOOD" game for about 5 years....
Everything is the same with different graphics, all same engine... And 1st person shooters bore me to death... I love a *GOOD* *HARD* strategy game, and I like REAL role playing games, the ones that make you think, not that are step by step obvious...
I mean I'm still stuck on starcraft, ultima online, warcraft 3, and on occasion ages of empire.. I play first person shooters from time to time but..... Tried Wow way tooo easy, EQ was way toooo easy...
Beh. Maybe I should just go to school for programming and make my own.

niko, try silkroadonline, its skill setup is closest i have see to UO, tho no crafting skills last time i checked(they planned to add them sometime later on) but the combat skills are kool, and you arent stuck in 1 class, you build you charictor as you like, using the skills you want not forced to be a "pure mage" or "pure knight" type crap

starcraft needs updated to allow 1600x1200 res's and such, 640x480 is just to low res for me anymore.

Never heard of it.. I still play uo, I have like 6 accounts, and pvp all day... Still hard and rough especially because with the guild I'm in I always get jacked 3-4-5-6 v 1... Sometimes I get 2-3 kills first though
But I still like uo, because there are just sooo many different types of chars you can make its just endless... And every time they patch they mess something up so there is something new that now works that really probably shouldn't...*Electronic Arts next patch for UO*

what drove me from cs was cs kiddies, the games full of 12yo little arseholes who just want to talk sh!t and start fights then try and hack.

We need a real sequel.
The last good game I played was actually Knights of the Old Republic (I haven't played Kotor2). The things I'm hoping for are C&C3, Supreme Commander and Assassins Creed.
EDIT: @ahsen: Tribes.. I recently played the Demo for the latest game and it was very interesting. Veeerry nice game indeed.

One overlooked title of '06 was
Condemned:Criminal Origins
just about the most brutal and suspenseful FPS I've played in ages - published by the same company as FEAR (and quite similar at times visually) - check it out. Like all games, there were some things about it that could have been better, but it's a wicked intense difficult MELEE-FPS....with sledgehammers, pipes, 2x4s, fireaxe, etc.
Perhaps Bethesda can do something with it....

I'm looking forward to Bioshock the most.
One overlooked title of '06 was
Condemned:Criminal Origins
just about the most brutal and suspenseful FPS I've played in ages - published by the same company as FEAR (and quite similar at times visually) - check it out. Like all games, there were some things about it that could have been better, but it's a wicked intense difficult MELEE-FPS....with sledgehammers, pipes, 2x4s, fireaxe, etc.

i am beta testing supcom and i must say its really a nice game. similar to TA i've seen fights with several hundreds of units going at each other... if your pc specs can take it.
sometimes it needs quite some micromanagement but other than that i can only recommend it to everybody
