The XBox because it is more powerful but the Playstation has some boss exclusives that could be coming to a PC near you soon.
Think again. The PS5 is so more technologically advanced than the X Box. But, don't believe me. Wait till they finally release the specs on the processor and memory than it will all make sense.

I am just going based on the information on the Internet.

how about none of those?
PC gamer master race option should be present
you would be still be able capture the difference in those two consoles popularity

Microsoft's exclusives don't appeal to me. Gears of War is the only MS exclusive title I can think of that I'd want from the system. Sony has around a dozen. This is especially true if the PS5's backward compatibility improves the game quality. I probably wont buy either, and definitely not until I know whether or not a pro version will be a thing.

Gun to my head, I would go for the Xbox just because of the bs Sony has been doing recent. I hate so many things about consoles though, I don't know if I would keep one of them even if it was a gift.

really surprised xbox is winning this. I mean, 99% of xbox game exclusives will be playable on the $5 pc xbox game pass... and sony exclusives rarely if ever come to PC, and they are usually pretty good to boot. really glad to see horizon zero dawn coming to PC.

My guess is that a lot of people voting don't know anything about the games and are solely voting based upon which one is supposed to be the more powerful console.

I chose the xbox based on it's looks. Dont know the specs of one or the other.

I do like the simplistic physics based design of the xbox series x. could use a better name though. I honestly might buy both systems. nintendo has never interested me, tried my relatives switch once and the TN panel made me cringe... i am used to much higher quality screens. Nintendo could have easily went IPS or even OLED like the VIta did. but they save every penny possible for max profit margins, shame the Vita didn't get more love, it was truly a beauty.

I think I'll really want to try the Tempest audio engine on the PS5, and since my son already games on a PS4, it'll be his Christmas present.

As others have mentioned, I'm primarily PC master race, and with the way Xbox has been (finally) bringing their "exclusives" to PC through Xbox Gamepass and the Microsoft Store I won't feel the need at all to buy an Xbox.

I am interested in PS 5, however, and if the price is right and I can swing it financially I'll aim for getting that to sit in my living room while my PC is upstairs in my "bonus room" above the garage. I also have a Switch in the living room, but we typically use it in handheld mode.

The reason I'll get a PS 5 is they still have some exclusives. Yes, I can get PS Now and play with a DS controller on PC, but I don't know for sure that all the new games will be streaming on PS Now. If they are, then I won't even need a PS 5, if they're not, then I'll still be tempted by it.

The other option in my mind is building an HTPC or using an Nvidia SHIELD in the living room to stream my games from PC down to there and just foregoing exclusives on PS. This might be my preference if the next gen PS games can be streamed using PS Now, because that would give me more flexibility, although not as simple to use as just turning on a PS 5.

PC for multiplatform games and XBOX "exclusives", PS5 for GOOD exclusives. I mean that Halo infinite looks like utter garbage compared to another open world PS5 exclusive...Horizon Forbidden West. And i'm saying that as Halo fan. Honestly, how the F can you have that imbecile Spencer constantly brag about how powerful Series X is and then show exclusives that look like shit compared to competition? If you have half decent PC, i don't see any reason why anyone would buy Series X.

god damn the split is 51/49... that is really close.

Not even, 50.6/49.4

I'm getting PS5 first and an ssd for my one x to tide me over until I get a series x. I usually buy consoles with credit card rewards so as long as it isn't over $500 I should be able to get the PS5 and a game or two and not have to pay anything and in a year I'll have enough saved in points to do the same with the series x.

Right? I'm kind of surprised it's that close actually. I really am curious to see how many plan to get both like I do. Rumors are that the next Playstation and Xbox will be backwards compatible and potentially enhance the graphics of older games, which if true would be awesome.

The more I read about the backwards compatibility of the series x, the more I'm leaning towards buying that first. If the series x does end up supporting everything back to the original Xbox, I may buy that one first and wait for a psvr2 bundle. Based on what I've been reading, the ps5 will only be backwards compatible with ps4 games, which is still great, but I have plenty of old titles for both and would get more use out of a console that emulates, or even better enhances, old titles for prior generation consoles.

Definitely the PS5. I like the design of the console. While the design of the Xbox 4 is the best it's ever been but the name "Xbox Series X" alone is enough to make me embarrassed to actually own the console. It's surprisingly worse than the Atari VCS's name. So I'm just gonna call it "Xbox 4" or "X-SeX" instead. But I still ain't gonna get it just for the name alone as I have already stated the reason.
I also prefer the PlayStation's line-up of games. Never cared much for back-compat. That's what previous gen consoles are for.
It's a shame, that the only advantage the PS5 hardware has over the Xbox 4 is the SSD speed & to a degree, it's RAM bandwidth speed as well & maybe it's audio chip.

Xbox Series X, because it's a logical step for me, already having an Xbox and I dig the "play anywhere" titles.

Put a steam app on the Xbox Series X & I'll consider it. :pimp:

But how would Steam sell their consoles then?
Steam machines would have to support Windows Store in exchange, dont'cha think? ;)

I may be outta touch but does Valve still sell their Steam Machines? I would've thought that they stop selling that due to not selling much?
the next nintendo console.
The next Nintendo console is prolly gonna be another portable device since that was successful. Dunno if it's gonna be something like the glorified tablet though.
