I want to buy a X850 GTO off newegg. unforntunately its a Barebone. So no cable for me.

I have a 9800SE currently and the power cables look very similar. I want to know if I can use my 9800SE cable in the X850 or not. And if I cant, can someone give me a site where I can buy one?

thanks

Ther eis no such thing as an X850GTO. If it's the floppy disc cable, it should work. Link to the card you want? I can give you a better response.

anyways...the x800/850 uses the 4pin 5v cable that most hdd and opticals uses, but eh 9800 uses the floppy power cable. if you have a spare 4pin (which you probabaly do) that every thing should be fine.

That's 4 pin molex connector, just plug the same thing you'd plug into your hard drive into there. Considering an X850XT runs fine on a power supply with 18A on the 12 volt line, I think you'll be just fine. Have fun with your new video card, you'll notice a considerable boost :).

Yeah, that looks like a 4 pin HDD connector. You dont' sound like an idiot, ATI has so damn many cards, it's hard to keep up.

the 9800 xt and some pros (so far as i know) use the molex cable which should work fine with any molex video card btw a molex consists of a 12v line, 2 ground lines, and a 5v line :toast:

The Sapphire X800GTO card that I have at home in the other computer uses a 4 pin molex 12v line, not the 5v.

It had certainly better, I don't think that there's a three-pronged plug that just kinda fits into a 4 pin molex plug :p.
