When i was chosing gpus i stopped between RTX 4070 and RX 6800, but the RX 6800 I would need to upgrade my PSU, so the price will be the same of the 4070.
My PSU at the moment is be quiet! System Power 9 Bronze 600W

No problem, as long as it can deliver at least 500 W on the 12 V rail.

That's a very good pairing. The 4070 gaming power consumption is only on par with a 3060 TI so there should be zero issues in real world situations

budget build from a solid OEM (FSP), it will do the job. Probably handle the RX 6800 as well

That unit isn't a true 600W unit. It only supports 576W continuous on the 12V rail. It has reviewed poorly as well, particularly for transients and the very low quality 85c bulk cap.

Wattage wise you are fine but I cannot speak to if the PSU would cause crashing due to the extremely poor voltage regulation or if the bulk cap would fail on you.

Think you will get away with it, but dont increase GPU power limits, and even consider reducing them for margin. The transient spikes might be what causes problems.

under your (incorrect) definition your seasonic 850w isn't a true 850w

It has reviewed poorly as well, particularly for transients and the very low quality 85c bulk cap.
actually the final statement of the review you are looking at states the following
"As for the Pure Power 9 as a line-up, it's fine for mainstream and mid-level systems. The competition is tough though, and there are some offerings close to this price range with Gold-rated efficiency."

while you are allowed your opinion, you are certainly not allowed to change the professional reviewers opinion. Certainly not a glowing review but hardly reviewed "poorly" across the board.

My PSU can provide 99.5% of it's rated power continuously via the 12v rail. His provides 96%. There is a significant difference between his PSU's labeled wattage and the amount provided over the 12V whereas mine is within margin of error of the total wattage. Hence why his is not a true 600W.

"Although be quiet! claims that these units have independent regulation on all rails, our test results prove otherwise. So, if you apply full load at +12V and minimum at 5V, the +12V ripple goes out of spec due to some high spikes. With minimum load at +12V and maximum at 5V, ripple suppression might fall within the limits, but load regulation goes haywire with the voltage at +12V reaches close to 13V! Although be quiet! might claim this unit is Haswell-ready, according to Intel's compatibility guidelines for the C6 and C7 sleep states it's not. Granted, Intel's test methodology for Haswell compatibility takes the most extreme scenarios into account. This PSU probably wouldn't have a problem with newer CPUs, and you can always disable C6 and C7 if you did run into any problems."

"More concerning to us is this PSU's low-quality bulk cap. We can't help but wonder why be quiet! chose to offer extra bells and whistles, like the stealth ribbon cables, instead of investing in a higher quality cap in the APFC converter. Even lower-end PSUs have 105 °C bulk caps nowadays."

You read a single line from the summary, not even the whole summary which you omitted, and then declared me incorrect. I'm not sure what the point of your comment is, other than to create unnecessary drama.

The article aligns perfectly with what I said originally:

It has reviewed poorly as well, particularly for transients and the very low quality 85c bulk cap.

I actually read more than a single line from the review.

Should be fine, as far as I know the 4070 draws about the same power as a FE or 8 pin 3060 Ti and I'm using a 8 pin 3060 Ti with a 500W Seasonic Core GM with no issues at all. 'entire system draws around 280-300W from the wall under heavy gaming load like Cyberpunk'
You could also get away with a RX 6800 most likely especially if you undervolt it.

I ran a 3070 ( which uses more power) on a 600w antec unit... so I think you should be good. It was gold rated..... though I know the significance of that is kind of.... dubious.

Pure is not a fantastic Bequiet line of PSUs, I wouldnt risk it running close to the edge of its spec. Though with a 4070 you are not that close either. I second the advice not to run any OC on this setup, rather, undervolt it.
