If you really wanna see DX11 take off and you are new to Windows 7..... I would say your best visual games are gonna be
1. Battlefield 3
2. Crysis 2
3. Dirt 3
4. Dirt 2
5. Battlefield 2 Bad Company
6. Metro 2033
7. Alien Vs. Predator
8. Batman Arkham City
9. CIV V
10. Fear 3
Benchmarks and Demos
1. 3Dmark11
2. ATI- Ladybug Demo
3. Nvidia Stone Giant
4. Unigine heaven benchmark 2.5
5. Nvidia Rocket Sled Demo (Which you won't be able to play because of your lack of PhysX)
Of course there are more examples then what I listed above. But IMO the list that I did give you above will give you some of the most drastic examples of improvements in visual graphics.
But you will also notice a big improvement in terms of computer performance and the way it runs. You should notice windows 7 being way more responsive then previous operating systems.
