my Theater 550 Pro gets hot so i have to have active cooling on it
here is my worklog :)

first i found some parts

molex to fan adapter :cool:




then i found a old motherboard fan from south or was it north brighd :rolleyes:




then my Theater 550 PRO TVCard




here is all the parts am gonna use :p



this is how it should look :D




more to come if not then i have cursirculted the system :roll:

umm why would you want to actively cool a part that works passive?
the thing is that the ATI Theater 550 Pro gets realy HOT, and thats bad for encoding :twitch:
ati should have added a fan :cry:

And louder!

But apart from that, how have you mounted the fan?
I see no drill holes round the TV-GPU (I don't have a better name for the chip :) ).
So I assume you glue it on the chip.
Let's hope it drops never when you bounce at you case.

Make a brace to tie the top-left mount point to the housing near the backplane, in conjunction with the thermal compound it should stay pretty solid.
