I don't really see it being all that advantageous. I'd probably just roll with the setup you have now and wait a bit. Just my .02!

I did a very similar upgrade just last weekend. I went from a 3770K/Z77 Sabretooth setup to a 6700K/Maximus VII Hero setup. With a reference GTX 980 the old setup ran everything I play easily at 2560X1440. With a 1070 you absolutely do not need a CPU upgrade.

If you have an itch to scratch and some money to burn consider an SSD if you don't already have one.
