Friday :p

i'm guessing there is some NDA on video too. all the video reviews look like early levels.

Sometimes pre-release reviews get only a select few missions available to them, spread across the entire game. That's how Hard West started their early impression review kits - I only got access to three missions at first, then the whole game nearer to release date.

probably right. b-roll was probably recorded weeks ago when the preview went out. people are lazy :p

Gamespot review sounds more like an advertisment.

So, here comes Friday.

Lowest online price for now, ~32€ for a steam key.

i've gone away for the weekend, hoping i can get it when i return. no day 1 patch issues for me!

USG: Why did you decide not to go with interceptions?
Solomon: Well, because I think that what we had before was basically kind of a mini-game, and so I felt like it didn’t fit as well with the theme, which gave us an opportunity to start fresh with some of these things. We said, "Well, that one doesn’t work that well," and we weren’t that thrilled with what we did in Enemy Unknown, so we said, "Alright, let’s instead take the effort and put it somewhere else.".

That's XCOM2 game designer... =[
PS
Xenonauts 2 is likely.

RPS's review is up. They seem to think it's vastly superior to Enemy Unknown.

OOh it is for sure even more so the maps.

the day one patch might actually be the resistance DLC.

waiting for an actual patch before I start my playthrough :p

here are some fixes in the meantime

http://www.gamepur.com/guide/21988-...-game-location-cant-detect-4k-resolution.html

Was not to happy when i could not select 3200x1800 :(, but i am over it the interface proberly gets to small anyways.

I noticed the AA settings are not staying fixed, this might be a issue for some as it seems to default to max AA.

Having fun and getting owned at the same time haha.

And i bet most like my self don't even bother putting a review there. Your best place for reviews are going be from people like @RCoon and alike.

I have not looked there but i bet most are bitching about performance issue's and tbh i have only seen the AA issue games ran great for me and the guy who kindly got me the game he plays on a mac running win7 without problems. OOh there is loading times they can be a little drag some times some 10-20s wait.

Unfortunately I never got to review XCOM 2, and I tend to avoid reviewing games beyond a week after their release (nobody cares by then). Booked up for the next 3 weeks so no XCOM review from me.

Well you can only do so much :p, i just hate the meta site it's surly not a place to get a idea of a game and much better to get them from multiple reviewers who have sat down and thought before speaking and be constructive.

I have, and no, they mostly aren't about performance and bugs.

Now i am surprised, but my point stands and i will stick with the much more professional reviews which look at both sides of the coin.

Apparently there is a fix for those who are having long load screen after missions, for me it's about 10-20s but a friend was getting up to 2 minutes but apparently by pressing caps lock would greatly reduce the loading screen wait time.

Sounds like this version is heavy on the turn limit or "timed missions." The best user review on there was "Things you could do in the original XCOM (1994) and you can't do anymore"
I'll pass.

its about half of em, with my experience so far.

finally beat the game. early on without tech was hardest, once i figured out how tech worked (upgrades are 'global' for a lot of them - not purchase per soldier) it got easier.

Final mission was rough, but there was a choke point i abused to my advantage.

Now play it again :), i must say re play-ability is their even more so with the map changing. Like if you start restart a mission from the ship it changes the map which is some thing you never notice if you make a save at the start and not go back to the main ship.

oh and i forgot to build the psionics lab til right at the end XD

made those armored enemies a ton easier to deal with.

How many hours does it take then, roughly?
