Problem with HIS X1800XL

Hello guys its my first post here and sry that its gonna be for bad purpose... I have the above card which has some problems in 3d gaming. First of all i have to say that my temps are ok core temp<70-75C , mem temp<50-55, volt regulator<50 etc. The problems is in some games like wow and especially in 3d mark2006. After some time (soon) it crashes, u know blank screen etc. I have tested the card with 6.1, 6.2 cats, those ones inside the bundle, with omega 6.1, with and without the cats ccc etc. I have disabled vsync, catalyst AI and auto overclocking. Well i am very confused because i dont know what the cause is (software or hardware problem). Plz give me some advice i dont know what else to do.

In bf2 my frame rates go to crap. i dont get it. im 100% sure its overclock related. im lik 40-50 sometimes i dip into the 35's sometimes. but when im on stock settings its like 60+ all the time. are my regulators not regulating? i got a fan blowing on it already with heatsinks on em copper ones too.

stock cooling temps are around 60c load with fans on full (plenty of case airflow, somwhere in the 500+ cfm area and gpu fan set to 90% in ati tool)

I have watercooling on the way so my next scores should be much higher.
oh yeah and voltage was 1.5v gpu and 2.2v gpu mem.

wow that's amazing for the config (well with the xtpe bios 05 and 01 make sense) but 03 is much higher than mine at those settings

at 700/800 the xt gets 9900 in 05
18400 in 03
and 34000 in 01 (cpu at 2.9)

current max with water is 775/925(1850)
11196 in 05
still tweaking just got it working.

while it's interesting to see that the core ocing makes a bigger boost than the mem does, why when i put them together on stock voltage is 705/810 the highest I can stably go?

it's really odd, the highest I currently can go is 780/900 as the mem seems to artifact at anything above that. and the core freezes after 780. lol 11224 is the current max.
any thoughts w1zzad? oh yeah and neither beta 12, 12b or 13 seem to allow me the overclock, only beta 11. is that the same for you?

it will get very close to your scores but i dont thing i will pas them
my cpu is lower in mhz than yours. 500mhz lower 3700+@2400
i will get a watercooler and try for 2600 or more!

thinking for 2000 marks in all tests!

new 14 beta artifacts in scanner no matter what i do. i know theres nothing wrong. just played 2 hours of bf2 no problems.

lol seems like nothing will make that feature work with an x1800 lol.
oddly enough all of the sudden my gpu mem seems to have new life in it and I was able to get to 927 without artifacts and some minor ones at 970 but I think i can play with the voltage enough to alleviate that problem
came to 11300 at 780/927(1854) but thats not the best part, the best part is that at 780/918(1836) I got a glitch in my favor on 3dmark 05

test 3 and cpu test 1 are abnormally high, it almost matches a crossfire dual core setup score in that way. lol gues my system peaked at that point or something lol.

no dual radiator water system black ice pro 2 rade before the gpu, then the black ice pro 3 before the cpu 90cfm 120's on the rads, 5.25 bay resevoir, maze 4 cpu and gpu blocks, hydor L35 320gph pump. plus plenty of ssytem airflow and another 90cfm 120 underneath the x1800xt.

all in all the water system cost around 350$ stock score in 3d05 was 8990 to the overclocked score of 11300 is a 24% boost the cost was 17% of the budget for cooling making the performance boost 7% worth it lol. but then again hindsite is 20/20 and i coulda waited for dual cores to drop and the x1900 series, lol.

thx yeah i've always like watercooling the gpu and cpu to get the max out of it, though I have to say the x1800xt seems to love the extra cooling, more than the x700pro I had before it, as the x700 went from 480/490 (980) on stock to 520/550(1100) (8%/11%) watercooled with ramsinks (thus 40MHZ core, 120mhz mem) the xt went from 700/800 (1600) on stock to the current 780/927(1854) (11%/14%) thus 80MHZ core, 254MHZ mem

if you're looking to watercool you xl, I'd definetly recomend a a dangerden setup (when you can afford it)
much better than the premades, and you can customise it to your needs.

actually those speeds should be breaking 10K for the x1800xt, your cpu is the culprit most likely.
drop the mem to a 5/6 divider (thus 333) up the cpu volts to 1.6 and slow push the up the fsb a winne 3200 should at least hit 2.2Ghz with most typical results at 2.4GHZ. should show a much bigger boost in the score.

overclocking the cpu by raising the fsb upps the memory clocks as well so it's probably your memory tapping out at higher speeds, not your cpu, so drop it to 166(333) from the current 200(400) this is what we call a 5/6 divider. you should also drop your hypertransport down to 3x in the bios (which is more stable and grants you more control when overclocking)

and regardless of the memory size 3dmark 05 is run at 1024x768 with no aa and af. so the memory shouldn't make much of a difference at all (3dmark 06 is a different story).
