X1900 Series Overclocking and Feedback thread

Well, I think the EnerMAX 600+ W Liberty power supply should do fine with the Crossfire setup IMO.

But it all depends on how many things you have hooked up to your power supply. Put the 1000W costs way too much.

Just got my Sapphire X1900XT i've had it up to 675/770 on 1.42vgpu... on stock cooling i need to lap the HSF since it looks like it needed it when i AS5'ed the core. Here's my 05 score so far...... 12222 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2067466 Hitting ~65C load with 75% fan speed. :D

your temps are 20c lower than mine and your 2005 score is better even thow i am running a faster core/memory speed 690/800.. so u aint doing bad..

trog

Thanks :D

I've been playing with it alittle more.... here's my highest so far:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2069464
This was @ 685/820 1.425 VGPU, with my Opty @ 3ghz, and with the ram @ 273mhz 3-4-4-8 :) Im getting some stuff to lap the heatsink today so hopefully i'll get some better results.. im not maxxed out just yet (i hope)

edit: just finished lapping the HSF... wash hitting 70C+ @ 1.425 685/820 before now max is 59C :D Very much worth the 10-15minutes of work lol

when u get 2005 up around the 12000 mark the rest of your system is playing a noticable part.. its not just grfx card like it is lower down..

trog

Lt.. your fast cpu and memory is good for about 1500 points on your 2005 score once it gets up there.. down round the 6000 or 7000 mark its all grfx card power.. up over the 10k mark the rest of the system starts to play a big part..

trog

so an upgrade in some ways and a down grade in others.. i aint gone dual core yet and dont intend to for some time..

I do notice that the X1900XTX gives you a better OC on the Ram over the XT version. But the GPU are about the same.

I find that kind of funny, because both XT & XTX are 10000% the same in every way. So, it may be that the XTX has a slightly higher voltage for the memory or something?

Either way, I am very happy with my ATI Radeon X1900XT ;)

The ram, I believe, has looser timings.

I see? well, either way, my system rocks with my X1900XT.

I thought you had a x1900xtx at one time??

Oh, no. I never had a X1900XTX, but I did flash my XT into an XTX, which made it an XTX. But the problem I had was running my card with the XTX speeds when I flashed it. My GPU is rock stable with high speeds, but my memory is not, even with water cooling.

So, I guess the memory timings or something between the XT & XTX are different or something?

Take Care,

xt->xtx bios flash

hi, just bought a sapphire x1900xt and wanna flash it to the xtx version, could anyone checkout if it will work technically if i send him the bios of my card because i saw that there are at least 4 revisions of the card out there. i will try to use overclocker and atitool to see if it supports the xtx core and memspeeds, i ask you because i don't wanna have trouble with a black screen trying to blindflash the old bios.

thanks!

The XT and XTX have one difference the memory on the XTX is a lil better quality therefor you can overclock the xtx a lil more on the mem at least.
Goodluck with the overclock it should support the xtx default clocks, make sure you check your temps and review the overclock guide well thats posted here.

No they are the same the only x1900 bios with different timings are the Toxic ones.

ATI TOOL only showing 16 pipes? WTF I thought the x1900xt was 48 pipes

Hi guys, I just got my x1900xt about a week ago. I am using the ATI tool to control my fan speeds but im still using CCC to control the clocks. So far the ATI too is working fine but I did notice one thing, that is its only showing 16 pipe lines :wtf: . I thought the x1900xt's were suppost to have 48 pipe's not 16? Whats going on here, is that the ATI tool not detecting them or somthing? O ya I'm using ATI TOOL 0.25 Beta 14.

The X1900XT's have 16pipes 48pixelshaders ;)

Asus Xt-xtx

G'day folks...

Just got a ASUS EAX1900XT VGA for my wifes PC, having bit of an issue with Flashing the card. It flashes alright, and it detects a new card etc and in Overdrive all the settings go up a little higher. As one would expect since the clock freq. is the only difference between XT and XTX.

As ASUS equiptment (particularly higher end) is high grade, i've confirmed the the memory is 11, also on the ASUS site the XTX cards looks the same (same HSF and pcb)

Problem:

All soon as i run 3D Mark 06 (with XTX bios) it corrupts graphics within Test one and then hard locks the PC.
I am using the ASUS X1900XTX bios that's on the Techpowerup BIOS page. WHen flashing with winflash it sais mismatched product type (or something along that line) i just forced the flash.

I am curious if the ASUS XTX bios was for different Memory type, as it did not specify in the link.

Any suggestions?

I was thinking flashing the card with either a POwer Colour X1900XTX or Saphire to see if that works? I know PowerColour tend to keep to reference design (same as ASUS) so should be a close match.

Has anyone Flashed their ASUS card yet?

Hi all, got my Sapphire x1900xtx watercooled via dangerden tyee waterblock, currently have the clocks as following 774/891 as shown in the pic, im still fiddling around wit the voltages and hope to push it even higher :)

Just love this card

Edit: added 3dmarko5 score, tho my RAM is underclocked slightly atm, i hope to rectify that soon

I tried flashing the card with a Sapphire BIOS and it craped itself aswell.. 2D stuff is fine offcorse but as soon as 3D loads corrupt graphics withing 30sec.

what are you using for overclocking? if you are using ATItool, remember you HAVE to alter the voltages b4 jumpin into overclocking the core/mem.

Otherwise u will barely even b able to up the core from stock,

btw forgive me if you already know this :)

I can't overclock my X1900XTX card, it isn't stable even @ 1.45V @ 700mhz and 820mhz ram with default volt. Is this card has no OC potential or is there a special way to overclock these cards?

BTW; I disabled the ati smart and hotkey services before trying.
