XFX R9 290x Not UEFI?

I also tested with one or two cards.
I do not know if the fact of using Two could block the use of the UEFI , don´t know
I'm already thinking of several things :P

Hello Leonardo,

I want to confirm the issue you are having is secure boot related, right? you want to utilize the UEFI bios for Secure boot in windows 8.1, but even after flashing the UEFI bios, it still wont post in Secure boot?

Please confirm.

Thanks

I say its a windows related problem or mobo bios isnt set. Secureboot iirc is windows 8.

Yes, no changes after Bios Update.

So, a 290x without a UEFI bios should not provide any signal if the secureboot is enabled. Are you seeing a bios screen through the 290x while the harddrive is plugged in?...

Sorry for the confusion. I am currently under the impression this bios does work... You can always call us at 800 880 3225 to settle this more quickly. (skype/voip is Okay!)

Thanks

At my BIOS, there is this:

CSM (Compatibility Support Module)
Allows you to configure the CSM (Compatibility Support Module) items to fully support the
various VGA, bootable devices and add-on devices for better compatibility.

** Launch CSM [Enabled]

[Auto] The system automatically detects the bootable devices and the add-on devices.

[Enabled] For better compatibility, enable the CSM to fully support the non-UEFI
driver add-on devices or the Windows UEFI mode.

[Disabled] Disable the CSM to fully support the non-UEFI driver add-on devices
or the Windows UEFI mode.

So, if I set [Disabled] I got this:

I made a video

most bios's will revert if GOP support isn't detected in the Vbios

As far as I understand the BIOS does not compatible with UEFI is a 015.041.000.xxx or less
Only version 015.044.xxx is compatible

Secure boot is useless anyway
you seem bound and determined to brick your card trying to get secureboot to work when you don't need it ..
for the record my xfx 6870 doesn't have GOP either and it works just fine in UEFI mode

Look what I found in Asus website:

http://www.asus.com/us/Graphics_Cards/R9290X4GD5/HelpDesk_Download/
*VBIOS update for R9290X-4GD5
Supports UEFI secure boot function

should have bought an Asus :(

It is odd, although mine does the pointless UEFI and it's a XFX card, and i am not 100% the blame should go to XFX.
