Rubbish. It's a rather foolish assumption considering that motherboards with legacy support are STILL commonly being made today. They don't bother listing UEFI because they made the completely logical assumption that nobody would be dumb enough to try to pair a high-end graphics card from 2019, with hardware from a decade prior that will severely hamstring said graphics card.
And now you're just being pedantic.Perhaps the manufacturers should also start specifying that you need an ATX and not an AT power supply, and that 486 CPUs aren't supported. And while we're at it, why not include a big sticker on the front of the box that says "requires electricity" too?
It is not unreasonable to expect that users of older, still viable, hardware will want to pair said hardware with current market hardware. This is something that is a bit irritating at best, irresponsible at worst.
Exactly.if a system otherwise meets all the requirements, the consumer has every expectation that the card should work.
Also correct. And this seemingly was not done. Seems AMD, XFX or both failed to do their homework and due diligence. If there's an additional requirement, they need to list it on the box and product page.
