Yes, you have to install Virtual PC, and then XP Mode. It is not packaged with the OS. You also have to install Windows XP using Virtual PC, with a valid licence before you can use it.

I thought that was what XP mode done -
I am not sure on this however, as I haven't tried it out yet
EDIT:I may just give this a try later tonight to see how it goes.

If I am not mistake, there is a valid XP key buried in Win7, so when you install it, it should validate itself.
In the RC, I found a link in help I think to turn XP Mode on and it just installed everything I needed for it to work. I think the download and install took 20 minutes and then it just worked.

Ah, you are correct, XP mode comes with a licenced XP already, so you don't need your own XP licence.

Not at the moment. I would imagine they may add it is a pay downloadable additional feature later on. I think Microsoft mentioned something a while back about Windows 7 have downloadable content that would quote "go beyond the traditional wallpapers, screensavers, and themes"

Not totally, however Virtual PC is supported on Home Premium(and even on Vista). You can install XP with it, and get similar function, you just won't have the total OS integration that XP Mode gives.
