Damn, the Sapphire 7970 OC Boost I just bought at Newegg only rates 61.5 on GPU-Z's ASIC rating. Should I return it? It doesn't seem to want to OC very well at all.
This is one of the most ridiculous reason for retuning a graphics card.
It is functioning all within spec.
People are just obsessed with arbitrary numbers these days.
Without truly knowing what the ASIC quality really stands for, and we don't even know if it means the same for AMD and nVidia.
FYI, my cheap ass PowerColor 7970 is 76.1%.
My old 5850 was about 91% and it OCed pretty good but I believe that was due to it being a reference card and at the time, AMD reference cards were good clockers.
Even now reference cards OCs fine, just that the reference coolers are noisy when OCed.
