i keep getting you should defragment this drive all the time

i have tried formatting, tried different xp discs

tried Gigabyte Dq6 & M3a32 MVP Deluxe motherboards all with latest bios

both my 1tb samsung f1 and my 500gig samsung f1 do the same

does it only with windows xp

any suggestion's?

I don't have an explanation, but if it's not giving you problems I wouldn't worry about it.

you need partition magic or similar software to do an offline defrag

i have tried that, still the same

thank you for the quick reply ladz

its realy agrivating me!

Lol

You can run a different defragmenter to possibly put your mind at rest. This is the free lite version of the world-reknowned Diskeeper, a 12MB download:It's free and from another forum I'm a member of. Good luck, hope ya figure it out!:toast:

no bad sectors, all seems to be running fine!

looks like i wont be going to work tonight

doctors note for harddrivephobia!

i got this error using disc keeper

Hmmmm, I looked that error message up and here's what I found.....<click me>

Apparently it's a known issue and as usual M$ offers a "weak" workaround, but a workaround nonetheless... Maybe it's not your sectors after all!:)

AusLogistics Disk Defragger. Love it. And its free. :)
