And I didn't even opt for the Assassin IV, that's "just" an AK620.

Is that the AK620 Digital? If so your post has lead me to purchase it for a for funs build.

Yes it is. Other than routing the USB 2.0 cable it has for the monitoring, mounting it was easy as heck. I only opted to mount both fans as pull (one pulling through the first tower – under the digital cap, and the other pulling through the second) because ram clearance was a bit tight to my liking, and also to show them ram lights off :p

Using an 011 Air mini as the case so hopefully it won't be too bad. I might only need the center fan it's going on a R5 7600

Got the new CPU block fitted. Not tried load temp yet, but idle has dropped 4/5 degrees from the HK iv basic acrylic. Will test load with R23 2024.

Had to move the high flow next down to the pump out to keep it level as the out on new blow is lower, could have rotated it but it looks better upright. Flow has gone from 126L/H to 134L/H so this block must have lower restriction than the HK

Does the AC Next require the software or can it do without it?

It can be used standalone. It will show flow/coolant temp/conductivity and quality with no other software, just needs a usb connection for power. If wanted can even control RGB. leds. I use the AQ software as i use a AQ OCTO to control all my fans using the CPU temp or GPU temp as a reference depending if i am benching or gaming respectively.

A couple of months ago I updated the case on my Ryzen machine in my sig because the Corsair Air 540 was getting a little long in the tooth. I like the Lian Li for it's simplicity and everything went in great. I lined the inside with sound deadening for reduced noise but also to cover up the bare metal , taking out all of the rubber cable pathways which I find to be quite ugly , functional but ugly (took these pics before removing the last one at the top). Added a 7" monitor for system info as well.

Got bored with air so went with my true love.

Used to look like this: Case is a Corsair 460X

IMG_8434.JPG

Now this:

IMG_9069.JPG

I had to build the loop around the card so I could pull it in and out if need be. So, I actually built the loop first then slotted the GPU in.

IMG_9060.JPG

Will make the loop look much better once I get a GPU block.

Not much space to work in atm..

Had to add the old UV cathodes for the green fluid to light up :)

IMG_9072.JPG

Oh btw, using an old swiftech pump that's almost 20 years old. Still pumping!

Yeah it's pretty nice, very heavy mind you. It is better than the block I was using, was a good buy even though it was £120, still cheaper and better performing than an EK block too

Aren't your worried that the wrap is acting as an insulator for the backplate?

Yeah, looks good but I'd be worried about some bubbling going on when it gets hot. Maybe he knows something we don't?

Not worried as I can just peel it off but havent noticed any real change in temps on GPU+hotspot, the bubbling will have to wait and see as time passes but I doubt it as this GPU runs quite cool at 50/60C gpu and hotspot to 60/70c while gaming, thought process is if the wrap lasts applied to the hood of a car over a hot engine on a summers day then maybe itll last ‍

Major Parts
Ryzen 7600 nice little budget gaming cpu no complaints
B650 Aorus Elite AX Great board for the price and honestly it makes the 400 usd and 700 usd AM5 boards I worked with look a little meh for the price difference.
Gskill neo 6000CL30 it's ram
Sapphire Pulse 6700XT solid edge/memory temps but meh hotspot same as the other 3 RDNA2 cards I have hands on time with.
RMx 850w got this on a pretty good sale super solid as always.
WD SN 770 it's an ssd
Deepcool AK620 Digital choice inspired by another forum member also needed hands on with an air cooler other than Noctua. Temps are only ok but low noise so there is that at least.
011 Air mini really like this case super easy to build in very comfortable size for taking a standard ATX board.

Maybe 48 hours of hands on time my takeaways is that AMD GPU drivers are still a bit jank especially with using 2 monitors with different resolutions but that probably has more to do with me being much more comfortable with Nvidia even though I would say I have a decent amount of hands on with AMD hardware.

Overall if I could redo all the choices I wouldn't this is still the budget PC to build imho. Most games I benchmarked were well over 100FPS at 1080p what I would target with this system and that honestly feels pretty fantastic.

Another very beneficial thing about doing stuff like this is it gives you a better perspective not everyone has a 4090 and they don't need it this system was tons of fun not only to build but also to mess around with and benchmark.

Excuse the crappy pics in the process of moving to my new house so my PC stuff is kinda all over the place,

20230927_080818 (1).jpg20230927_080818.jpg20230927_080902.jpg

I will probably add two fans at the bottom whenever I have time and don't judge my cable management I haven't done it yet lol.

Excuse the crappy picks in the process of moving to my new house so my PC stuff is kinda all over the place,

I will probably add two fans at the bottom whenever I have time and don't judge my cable management I haven't done it yet lol.
You're welcome :D
I do like my temps very much (with a 5600X), though. Seriously, the last 3 days were around +40C ambient, and the AK620 held the line like a champ. Nowhere close to 60C while gaming.

50-60c in games generally 80c in AVX workloads although that was after 8 hours... 20C ambient. I expected slightly better but the last air cooler I used was a U12A so that's probably an unfair comparison given the price difference.

My former cooler was a TT Water 3.0 240.
Not only I had an episode of air getting trapped in the pump, I don't know if there was something wrong with the mounting mechanism on it or just by project the Asetek design (using the default AM4 motherboard brackets) didn't get enough pressure.
My temps are actually better now. And dead silent.
