Can it ever stay the same... new gpu, ASUS RTX 4070 Super. Ended up the same performance in 3dmark and in COD MW3 as my 3090 with less juice. I still have to swap out the top fans for the Noctua Chromax ones. I have em, just being lazy, lol. Enola, one of my cats loves hanging out in her new tower.

Here's my 1440p gaming machine with ton of airflow. I wish I could get black 160mm case fans so I could replace front ARGB-fans. One led strip on the top of the case is enough RGB for me

Worst case, you pull them out and manually clean them with a rag. It's not like his setup has radiators or other loop parts that make removing them difficult. Beggars can't be choosers when you're looking for oddball size fans.

I actually bought the basic 216X model without RGB but still have ARGB front fans and controller. I have no idea why. It did not bother me back then and isn't a huge issue now either. I just prefer blackout theme nowadays.

"Upgrade" from 3090 to 4070... because... reasons...

Those 12gb vram are totally gonna age better than the 24gb, totally...

I play at 1080p and posted similar 3dmark and CODMW3 benches as I said. It uses a lot less power and I got enough from the sale to more than pay for the new card.

Yeah, you got enough to pay for a new card that is a significany downgrade in a vram, which will become relevant sooner rather than later. And 3090's can be undervolted alot, cut 100-150w of the power consumption at little to no performance cost.

Your money, your life - but it's the worst gpu trade i've ever heard of.

If 3090 is anything like my 3080 Ti "a lot" can be between 100 W to something as little as 10 W, depending on the title and the way it loads the GPU. For example with tessellation on you'll still hover around 340W easily.

Sounds like you haven't actually undervolted it, but rather just reduced the power target.

1880 mhz @ 900 mv uses significantly less power than stock.
